Post update
That's a wrap for the last 16 of the Champions League.
We'll be back tomorrow for more Europa League action and the usual Premier League drama on the weekend.
Check out Saj and Emlyn's excellent match reports too:
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Barcelona 5-1 Lyon
I'll leave you with a list of this year's quarter-finalists, which includes four English teams.
Catch up PSG!
Barcelona 5-1 Lyon
Lyon’s goal was their 200th scored in European Cup/Champions League history, making them the first French side to reach that milestone in the competition.
Shame it was only a consolation...
'The boys love this competition'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Liverpool
More from Jurgen Klopp on Andy Robertson's late booking: "It was silly but he is still a young boy. We should not worry about things like that though."
On his rivalry with Bayern from his Dortmund days: "I didn't just want to beat Bayern. I wanted to win with Liverpool. I am sure I will have a lot of fans happy from Dortmund and if I can help them, then that's great too.
"It is a wonderful Champions League night for Liverpool again and that's good. Somebody will play against somebody in the next game. The boys love this competition. They dig in and I like it. The desire was outstanding. All good!"
'It is a big one'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "In a game like this you can never rest. It is absolutely deserved. It is so difficult to play here away at Bayern Munich.
"It is a big one. I am so proud of the boys. Jordan Henderson twisted his ankle. Hopefully it is not too serious. Making early changes is never a good time.
"The first goal, I will want to watch it back like 1,000 times! Defensively it was so good. We didn't defend the way we do usually in the away games of the Champions League but today we did.
"Virgil van Dijk gives organisation on set-pieces and he is dangerous. He is a massive threat. The size we have and the power we have... it was a big goal.
"In a game like this, there will be mistakes but you have to stay in the game. Control the moments you can control and stay in the game. The game didn't look like Bayern ever outplayed us.
"We scored the other two and could have scored another one with that chance for Mohamed Salah."

Gregory Mandapat: So all English clubs will want either Ajax or Porto. They should not take their giant-killing wins lightly. Madridistas and Roma fans can attest to that.
Brit in Germany: In a pub in north Germany, only happy supporter here, rest are Bayern Fans, happy days.
Alan Ferguson: Delighted. Absolutely delighted. Can’t wait for the Friday draw now, forget all that country protection malarkey. This is when it gets real.
'Time for soul-searching'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Raphael Honigstein
German football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live
What does Bayern Munich's exit mean for German football?
Three years ago the Bundesliga was ahead of the Premier League when looking at all the results and the [Uefa] coefficient [ranking] but that was with Dortmund and Bayern doing well in the Champions League each year.
Now, Dortmund are still developing and Bayern are off their best and then there is a big drop [in German football] and it's a time for soul-searching.
If you don't have the most money in the world, you need something a little bit extra - a team spirit, tactics, or coach - and right now we don't have that special transformative manager in place and that's why the lack of strength and depth below Bayern and Dortmund is shown.
A team to avoid...
Barcelona 5-1 Lyon
Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 30 Champions League home games (W27, D3, L0), the longest ever run in the competition.

Kaushik Gorai: 3 points? Didn't anyone inform Milner that he just played a Champions League match?
I didn't even notice! Reckon he has a victory speech prepared and forgot to tweak it for the Champions League?
Post update
The draw for the quarter-finals and the semi-finals takes place on Friday at 11:00 GMT. And Liverpool are in it.
'Kovac is still inexperienced'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Raphael Honigstein
German football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live
We saw far too little from Bayern. In the first half it looked as though they were on a similar level to Liverpool, but when the game opened up you could see they didn't have the same punch as Liverpool.
Bayern are waiting for a new team to arrive. [Manager] Niko Kovac is still inexperienced and still learning. Bayern will spend big.

Aaron: Barca are doing their bit but La Liga's star has faded you feel and it's the Premier League's time in the sun once more.
Martin Tooth: Period of introspection incoming for German football. National team humiliated last year; three club sides all out in the last 16 of the Champions League.
LFCway: What a performance, Bayern didn't have a sniff in that second half. Job well done. Could have been more. Bring on the quarter finals. Take that all you Klopp haters.

Jurgen Klopp went over to give Robert Lewandowski a hug. He was signed by the Liverpool boss during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Nice touch.

Barcelona have reached the Champions League quarter-finals for a record-equalling 17th time (also Bayern Munich).

Three goals in four games. Throw him up front Jurgen!
'It feels amazing to score'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk speaking to BT Sport: "It is a great evening. We knew it would be tough as they have a great team with fantastic players.
"We were unlucky on their equaliser but we got the job done and we're into the last eight.
"It is very important and it feels amazing to score. We need to cover him [Andy Robertson - who misses the next game through suspension] but we will prepare and make sure everyone is ready."
Liverpool midfielder James Milner: "It was a good result. We didn't play our best but it is about defending well and getting three points.
"This guy [Van Dijk] got another goal. To be honest, he should get more given his height!
On losing Jordan Henderson to injury: It says a lot about the squad we have got. To lose the captain that early was difficult but we dealt with it well. Fabinho came on and did well then we scored.
On having four English teams in the quarter-finals: "It is good for English football. That's what you want. We don't know who we are going to get in the next round but we have good feelings from last year so hopefully we can carry that on and go as far as we can."
'Van Dijk has to win Footballer of the Year'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Jurgen Klopp has got this one absolutely right. Liverpool made Bayern look ordinary and it is not the same Bayern as two or three years ago, but Liverpool could not have played this any better.
Virgil van Dijk has to win Footballer of the Year by a street.
Liverpool's front three were always a threat and in big games recently they had looked average but today as a front three they were outstanding.
FULL-TIME
Barcelona 5-1 Lyon
All over in Spain.
'Outstanding display from Liverpool'
Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Their second half was as good as anything in the last year, including getting to the final last season. They have won extremely comfortably, an outstanding, outstanding display from Liverpool.
