Liverpool beat West Ham to move 19 points clear in Premier League - reaction

Star Man: Liverpool now have 70 points. That's the same number of points Chelsea and Arsenal have made together.

Liverpool have gone 41 Premier League games without defeat (W36 D5) – the third longest such run in English top-flight history behind Arsenal (49 in 2004) and Nottingham Forest (42 in 1978).

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC MOTD:

"I have no idea [if anyone will catch us]. The first target is to get the maximum points. This year there are still a lot of games.

"Yes we have 70 points, an incredible number, but so many things can happen. We don't feel as though anything is done, I promise you. We take a deep breath and then Saturday it's Southampton."

David Moyes talking to Sky Sports:

"We didn't play as well with the ball at times but we created some chances. Lots of things we did good but we didn't get the result.

"There will have to be games where we play like that, we play a lot of good sides and we will have to be good without the ball."

On new signing Tomas Soucek: "It is difficult to know what to expect but he is a big athletic midfield player, who has scored a lot of goals. An international and we have someone who can play in a couple of different roles.

"It always takes time to settle and we need to give him that opportunity. I would like to bring in players who can help the team, if we can add, we will."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp talking to Sky Sports:

"We could have done a lot of things better but there was only one team who deserved to win.

"We could have passed better, defended better. Who cares? These players played outstanding football so often, it was a normal performance.

"We never had 100% rhythm, it is tough to play against such a defensive-orientated team."

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BBC MOTD:

"We are disappointed with the goals we conceded but not disappointed with the players' performances.

"I hope Tomas Soucek brings us what he brought to Slavia Prague. He scores goals and plays in a couple of positions."

West Ham remain 17th and level on points with 19th-placed Watford.

Having signed Czech Republic midfielder Tomas Soucek from Slavia Prague on loan earlier in the day, could the Hammers bring in more players before Friday's deadline?

Klopp on Liverpool fans singing about winning the league: "They can sing whatever they want. Singing it doesn't mean you are it."

Jurgen Klopp is facing the TV cameras.

"I'm only happy about the three points," he says. "We could have done a lot of things better. We could have passed better and defended better.

"These boys have played outstanding football throughout the season. Tonight was a normal performance."

It's still January and Liverpool are 36 points clear of both Manchester United and Tottenham. Arsenal are 40 points behind the runaway Premier League leaders.

Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: "You can't get carried away. We haven't got this far by being complacent. We respect everyone we go up against and try and get the wins."

Jurgen Klopp is on the pitch and he's gone straight over to where Liverpool's jubilant fans are celebrating another win.

The German is sporting a huge smile. He won't say it publicly but he surely knows his side have all but won the title.

Klopp heads back to the dressing room but stops to sign a few autographs and pose for selfies.
