  1. The best comeback since...yesterday

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Lucas Moura

WHAT a night in the Champions League. Again.

Just 24 hours on from Liverpool's heroics at Anfield, Tottenham produced another inspirational display to beat Ajax on away goals and set up the most unlikely of all-English finals in Madrid on 1 June.

    Christian Eriksen

Tottenham were 2-0 down at half-time - and 3-0 on aggregate - after this superb Ajax side again had a wonderful 45 minutes.

But Lucas Moura's 35-minute hat-trick sent Spurs into their first Champions League final and reduced manager Mauricio Pochettino to tears.

  2. 'Thank you to everyone who has believed in us' - Pochettino

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Pochettino

An emotional Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "Still difficult to talk. The emotion is amazing, thank you to football. My players are heroes - in the last year I was telling everyone this group are heroes. The second half they were amazing. Thank you football - this type of emotion without football is no possible. Thank you to everyone who has believed in us. To describe this in words is difficult.

"We were talking before the game that when you work and when you feel the love it's not stress it's passion of the team. We showed we love the sport and football. Today was amazing. It was a joy to watch this kind of game.

"It's difficult to compete at this level. I am so grateful to be a coach. To be in football and to live this type of football.

"They are all heroes but [Lucas Moura] was a superhero. From the first to last one - the tough moment to live in the five years before."

Pochettino then wells up with tears...

"I want to remember my family... it's amazing to reward them. We need to be ready for the next game on Sunday then prepare for the final."

Mauricio Pochettino is crying like a baby and he was on his knees when they scored. It gets you emotional watching him and seeing how much it means to him.

  4. 'I'll have to prove myself to the gaffer'

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Tottenham Hotspur

    Harry Kane

Speaking to BT Sport, Tottenham striker Harry Kane said: "It was amazing. It was a disappointing first half and we let them play. I went into the dressing room at half time and we knew it wasn't good enough. We said we had 45 minutes to give everything. When Lucas Moura scored the two you thought we would get another but then Jan Vertonghen hit the crossbar and we thought it might not be our day.

"I'm a fan first and foremost and I know how much it means to the club. The lads dug deep and showed passion and that is all you can ask for. We had to wait to get the third in the last minute and we found a way. That is what football is about and we have the final to come."

On his availability for the final: "Rehab is going well. I start straight line running this week which is why I was OK to run on at the end. We beat Man City and Ajax so I have to start training even harder to prove myself to the gaffer."

  5. 'Tottenham still believed'

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Erik ten Hag

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag: "We were so close, we had so deserved it, but that last second...

"I told the players in the break that it wasn't over yet, you could tell by the attitude of the Tottenham players. They still believed in it.

"When that ball hits the post from Hakim Ziyech, it's over and out for Spurs. But I can't blame anyone. We have had an incredible Champions League season and have grown a lot as a team. It is difficult to process."

  6. 'The best night in the club's history'

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Jermaine Jenas

Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Ajax

I have just about recovered. There was some screaming and then I completely choked up and lost my voice. I was all over the place and it was raw emotion. Disbelief and shock. This last month of football in the Champions League and the Premier League has been unbelievable.

Certain players like Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have been at that club for a long time trying to develop themselves and I do not think they envisaged playing in a European Cup final for Tottenham. Liverpool have been in finals for years and it is rooted in their history. Spurs need these days, and if they can win it, it sends them into a completely different stratosphere.

Managers have everything thrown at them and that was a night for him. He may never get this sort of game ever again and I'm delighted for him and the football club. It is the best night in the club's history.

  12. 'Impossible to explain' - Moura

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Lucas Moura
Image caption: So good he scored a hat-trick in flip-flops

Tottenham's hat-trick hero Lucas Moura speaking to BT Sport: "Impossible to explain what I'm feeling. I'm very happy and very proud of my team-mates. Always believe in this moment. We gave everything on the pitch and deserved this moment - we are family. Impossible to explain. Big gift from God I'd like to share with team-mates, friends and family.

"It's about not only me but my team-mates and teamwork. Everyone worked really hard. Too difficult to play here against Ajax but I always believed in my team-mates. Even without key players we did really well. We need to fight in every game like this.

"The football is amazing - it gives us a moment like this. We cannot imagine. The best moment in my life - in my career. I only need to say thank you to my team-mates."

  13. 'Llorente made the difference'

    Ajax 2-3 Tottenham (Agg: 3-3)

    Fernando Llorente

Former Ajax and Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "The introduction of Fernando Llorente made the big difference after the break,.

"Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind were embarrassed by him, also by the connecting midfielders of the Spurs. The defence of Ajax could not play that.

"This defeat was completely unnecessary. At half time there was nothing wrong with a 2-0 lead. In the second half, Tottenham took more and more risk and more and more attackers entered the field. Ajax made the wrong choices in possession of the ball in that phase."

  14. Post update
