  1. Another good night for the Prem

    Liverpool goal

If you're just joining us it has been a night of two more wins for Premier League sides in the Champions League.

Chelsea got a stroke of VAR assistance on their way to a win at Ajax, while Liverpool piled on the goals as they beat Genk 4-1.

Both sides are on track to qualify - check the tables here.

  2. 'I know where we need to be'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

More from Jurgen Klopp: "We've just had two away games that were both difficult for different reasons. I don't know where we are now but I know where we need to be on Sunday.

"It's a refreshed Tottenham. Of course the second they meet us they're back on track! But we're a different team to Red Star Belgrade, just like Tottenham are different to Genk."

On Oxlade-Chamberlain: "His goals were brilliant, and very important. We're really pleased for him, it was a big step."

On Mane's goal: "I would have loved to see more of that play in the game but, for that moment, it was excellent."

  3. 'Job done'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

    Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp on BT Sport: "There were good moments. The start was brilliant, we were kind of fluent and asked them a lot of questions but then we started - I'm not sure why - to lose patience and some easy balls. But all four goals were brilliant and we had chances to score more. Job done.

"In the years before we would have drawn it, maybe even lost, but all's OK. It was intense, we needed concentration. Our opponent brought in their tallest player and they did well from the first and second balls. We played with speculation when do we really need to go there? Then they won the second balls. So I didn't enjoy the game too much, but I enjoyed the result."

  4. 'Fantastic'

    RB Salzburg 2-3 Napoli

    Carlo Ancelotti

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti speaking to Sky Italia: "It's a fantastic evening for us, but we still have to beat Salzburg again in order to qualify... It was a great game, we suffered, but in the end we got what we wanted. We did very well in managing the various different moments of the game."

  5. Post update

A very long sigh starts Jurgen Klopp's tv interview when asked 'how happy were you with that performance?'

    Not especially, I'm guessing.

  6. 'He's got a great strike'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

James Milner on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's return from injury: "Everyone's delighted for him. It's the things that people don't see behind the scenes, the hard work around the training ground.

"He's got a great strike and he's good in those pockets. It's great to have him back and he's another option in that midfield, where there's already great competition for places."

  7. Post update

It's Spurs and then Arsenal for Liverpool to round out October. Big games for big names.

  8. Post update

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on BT Sport: "We've gained confidence from the whole season, not just this game and the last 20 minutes against Manchester United. We saw that we have a lot to improve on and it was the same again tonight, but we're getting results, which is good.

"The manager will tell us we have a lot of points to improve because we've got to get them right if we're to get another good result at the weekend."

  9. Sailing through?

    Genk 1-4 Liverpool

You'd bank on Liverpool making it through from here wouldn't you?

  10. 'We've got to be better'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on BT Sport: "I don't know about the Champions League missing me but I've definitely missed it! It was nice to be back out there. It's a special tournament to play in. It was great to see the boys do so well last year, being on the bench at the end and watching the boys bring it home.

"It's nice to be back in the starting line-up and to get a couple of goals is a bonus. But we've got to be better if we want to go further in the tournament."

  11. 'Solid'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain James Milner on BT Sport: "We started well and got a bit sloppy. The second half was a lot better but it was disappointing to concede at the end. But it was a solid performance at difficult place to come."

  12. Post update

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says of Liverpool's first-half performance, "we'll have to do a lot better than that as we progress in this competition."

    Full reaction to come.

Ed O'Toole: Can’t wait until Liverpool start playing well. Indifferent performance tonight but you can’t beat quality. Napoli won’t be top by the end of the qualifying groups.

  14. 'Liverpool were clinical'

    FT: Genk 1-4 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

    Sadio Mane

Liverpool started the game really well then died off, the quality wasn't there. Genk caused them a few problems. But it was a completely different Liverpool side that came out for the second half. They were organised and made it tough for Genk to get out. It was quality from Oxlade-Chamberlain, quality from Mane then more quality from Salah. It was those moments where Liverpool were clinical to see off this Genk team. They gave a good account of themselves and deserved their goal at the end.

SMS Message: And that's why Lovren is 4th choice centre back. Lack of awareness costing his team a goal. from Nick, Norwich

  16. Post update

Napoli have won in Salzburg which means that they top the group on seven points, Liverpool have six.

  17. Elsewhere in Europe...

All over in Prague as Barcelona have edged to a 2-1 win over Slavia.

The hosts desperately pushed for a late equaliser - and even brought up goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar for two injury-time corners.

But Barca hung on for a barely deserved sixth consecutive win.

Koba Fern: Clean sheets are for people that never sleep. Liverpool are world beaters, period. I salute you.

  19. Post update

    Genk 1-4 Liverpool

Captain James Milner goes over to clap the travelling support, as does Jurgen Klopp. They look happy with a job well done.
