Fifa Women's World Cup - Chile narrowly miss out on last-16 spot

Wow, what a day!

We've had four matches full of drama on the final day of the group stages. In the end, it was only Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, the USA and Cameroon who progressed from Groups E and F.

There's a day off tomorrow but the last 16 kicks off on Saturday. I'll leave you with a confirmation of each fixture...

Confirmation that the USA have topped Group F.

Sweden are runners-up and will take on Canada in the last 16. Chile and Thailand are going home.

The Thailand defence are just heading everything clear. Cross, after cross, clearance, after clearance.

The Chilean players have got their head in their hands on the touchline. They are praying, egging their teammates on. Anything. They are so desperate for this third goal.

Again, it's over the keeper's head and only just over the Thai keeper's flapping hands too. It bounces dangerously out for a goalkick after fizzing past the face of the goal.

It's over the head of the keeper and comfortably cleared by Thailand. Endler will hang around for a bit though.

Paloma Lopez' cross is swinging dangerously towards the goal but the keeper remains calm and gets both hands on it.

Chile are relentless though. They win a corner straight away.

Thailand break through Kanjana Sung-Ngoen. The skipper dances her way into the box but runs out of steam.

Chile quickly get it back up the other end.

Warunee Phetwiset, who has pulled up injured, is replaced by Kanjanaporn Saengkoon.

Francisca Lara still can't believe it. She's shaking her head frantically. She will do anything now to score a third goal.

Paloma Lopez lifts a free-kick into the box. Everybody is in there for Chile. It's an easy catch for keeper Waraporn Boonsing though.

There is two minutes of normal time remaining, plus stoppage time. As it stands, Cameroon are playing England in the last 16.
