  3. Lancaster crew aim to show at Sunderland

    Having been out of the hangar on three flights in two days after a long spell of engineering issues, Thumper's crew are hoping to get her airbourne again, this time for a show. 

    They say the UK's only airworthy Lancaster could show this weekend in Sunderland, one of her first of the season.

    The station Commander of RAF Coningsby where the aircraft is based, says its dependent on how practices go this week with the crew and with the Spitfire and Hurricane.

    So look to the skies all this week as Thumper will be out flying.

  5. Tough trek for Louth firefighters

    Earlier we shared with you the story of firefighters in Louth battling the heat to complete a gruelling triathlon marathon for charity. 

    At around 10 o'clock they took to the water for the middle kayak stage after cycling 56 miles. Seven hours later, they've arrived at Kirkstead Bridge and are ready to set off for a 26 mile run back to Louth in 26 degree heat.

    Some call them crazy, we call them very brave as it's all being done to raise money for the firefighters charity.

  6. Dangerous driver pleads guilty over death of motorcyclist

    A 45-year-old van driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless driving in Lincolnshire. 

    Stephen Day from Sheffield was involved in a collision at Baston near Bourne in October 2015. 

    Forty-two year old Steven Bristow from Bourne died of his injuries. Sentencing has been adjourned until next month.

  7. Lincoln is hotter than Germany - find out where else

    With the temperatures soaring today to 26 degrees celcius its likely they'll be a few burnt noses around the office tomorrow but would it be hotter if you went abroad?

    Well according to BBC Weather, not necessarily.

    Lincoln isn't quite as hot as Thailand or Cuba but it does top Germany and Brazil which has temperatures of around a mere 18 degrees celcius.

  8. Lincolnshire bikers warned to stay off private land

    Off road bikers are being warned to stay off private land in Grantham. 

    The police say they're using fields at the top of Dysart Road without the owner's permission. 

    Officers say they will take action against the riders and their bikes could be seized.

  9. Level crossings: Lincoln issues resolved but problems now at Swineshead

    Traffic has eased in Lincoln as the earlier level crossing barrier issues have been sorted. 

    However there are now problems at Station Road level crossing in Swineshead which has now been closed. Traffic is moving very slow in the area.

    Network rail say different faults have been recorded at each level crossing and they are currently working to fix the issues at Spalding and Swineshead.

  11. BreakingTravel: Level crossing failure in Lincoln

    There's slow traffic in Lincoln city centre because of a failure at Lincoln's High Street level crossing. 

    Its also looking busy in and around Boston, Barnetly Le Wold and Bourne where there's slow traffic and congestion on the A15 at Thurlby in both directions at the Kates Bridge junction.

  12. Lincoln beach is back

    If you don't fancy the hour drive to the Lincolnshire coast but still want to sit on the beach then you're in luck as Lincoln beach is back in for the summer. 

    Thousands of tonnes of sand have been placed this year on the city's Cornhill area.

    Lots of people have already been down with their buckets and spades.

  13. Police appeal for sightings of wanted man

    The police are looking for a Lincolnshire man who went missing during his trial at Lincoln Crown Court. 

    Officers are appealing for sightings of Shane Boyton from Holbeach. 

    The 37-year-old was found guilty of two offences of burglary in his absence.

  14. Holidays in Turkey: Advice from a Lincoln travel agent

    With all the chaos going on in Turkey at the moment and an estimated 50,000 Brits on holiday in Turkey at the moment, we've been finding out from a local travel agent whether its still safe to go there. 

    Mark Brewer, the owner of Imp Travel in Lincoln says as expected some people going on holiday are feeling nervous. However he says airports are returning to normal and coastal resorts where most tourists are and are heading to, don't appear to be significantly affected. Most hotels will keep things as normal as possible.

    The Foreign Office is advising people to be vigilant and are warning people to avoid areas like Ankara and Istanbul.   

  15. Honorary doctorate for Oscar winner in Lincoln

    You'll know him from Only Fools and Horses, Bridget Jones’ Diary, and Gangs of New York but you've probably not seem him in a mortar board and gown... well that's until now.

    The Oscar-winning Lincolnshire-born actor and film star Jim Broadbent will receive an honorary doctorate this week from Bishop Grosseteste University.

    Mr Broadbent will join the 1,127 students graduating from the university on Wednesday.  

  16. Record crowds at Woodhall Spa's 1940s weekend

    It was pretty busy in Woodhall Spa this weekend as the 1940's festival was enjoyed in the village.

    Its always a very popular event with memorabilia, stalls and the whole town taken back in time but organisers say this event was their biggest yet, drawing in record crowds.

    Despite a traffic management company being brought in following problems in 2015, the number of people travelling to the event brought the village to a standstill.  

  17. Heat wave warnings in Lincolnshire

    With temperatures set to soar to a scorching 30 degrees across the county this week the Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group has issued advice about how to keep yourself safe in the sun.

    They say to drink plenty of fluids, but avoid caffeine, fizzy drinks and alcohol.

    Since the sun doesn't come around very often most of us want to soak up the rays but the NHS says try to stay out of the sun between 11:00 to 15:00 and wear a high factor sun cream containing UVA and UVB protection.

    You're also being asked to look after your relatives as vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and very young who are considered to be at most risk, as high temperatures can exacerbate heart and breathing problems.

  19. Louth firefighters triathalon challenge

    There's a full day ahead for these firefighters from Louth as they aim to complete a triathalon with a difference.

    They started at Louth this morning cycling around 56 miles into Lincoln. Pictured here when they finished the ride at Brayfrod Pool they're now heading off to kayak to Kirkstead Bridge along the River Witham. 

    That's all wrapped up with a 26-mile run back to Louth, sounds easy right?
