The victim was threatened by a passenger in a green car he accidentally hit with his Fiat Punto, on Alexandra Road at about 12:00 on Saturday, police said.

He then drove off and was pursued by the two men in the other car to a house in Redmoor Lane, where he was attacked.

  5. Tickets please! More from couple issued with 'ridiculous wad' to get to Scarborough

    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

More now on the couple from Cambridge whose return train journey to Scarborough resulted in them being issued a grand total of 34 tickets and receipts.

Tom Bragg and Anne Miller say it was the result of wanting to to take their bikes, so they could cycle around the North Yorkshire moors.

Tom told me: "The bike needs a ticket stuck on [it] and a passenger copy for each section of the journey - and there are three places where we change in each direction.

"But the people at Cambridge Station were really helpful."

Last May the couple took their bikes all the way to Cordoba, in southern Spain, which only required 10 tickets.

Abellio Greater Anglia, which manages Cambridge Station where the tickets were bought, said the high number of tickets included seat and cycle reservations for the various stages of the journey.

  6. UKIP leadership: Patrick O'Flynn not standing

    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

Eastern region UKIP MEP Patrick O'Flynn has confirmed to us he is not going to throw his hat into the ring for party leadership and is backing Ramsey councillor Lisa Duffy.

He's due on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire to discuss his decision at 17:10.

    Patrick O'Flynn

The former Press Association and Daily Express journalist was brought in as the party's head of communications in 2013 and became one of Mr Farage's chief lieutenants, as well as being elected an MEP in 2014.

But the pair had a big fallout after the 2015 election, when Mr O'Flynn questioned Mr Farage's reversal of his decision to resign, suggesting it damaged trust in the party and made UKIP look like a personality cult.

The infighting led to him losing his position as economics spokesman.

  7. Lisa Duffy 'best candidate' to expand UKIP's appeal, says Suzanne Evans

    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

Former UKIP deputy chairwoman Suzanne Evans says she is endorsing Ramsey UKIP councillor Lisa Duffy for the leadership of the party, because she can best expand its appeal to voters.

"Lisa has the backbone for the change that needs to come," she told the Daily Telegraph.

  8. Who is Lisa Duffy?

    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

Former UKIP leadership favourite Suzanne Evans says Lisa Duffy is "not a household name, yet, but definitely one to watch".

So who is the district councillor for Ramsey who's hoping to replace Nigel Farage?

    Lisa Duffy

The 48-year-old mother-of-six is the chief of staff to Patrick O'Flynn, UKIP MEP for the East of England, and she is a former director of the party. She joined UKIP in November 2004.

Her career before politics was in retail. She's worked as a senior store manager for TK Maxx in Manchester and as a George clothing manager at Asda, having started work at her parents' corner shop aged 13.

She decided to join the party when her partner, Peter Reeve, UKIP county councillor for Ramsey, launched the first UKIP Manchester branch.

In 2011 she became the first UKIP mayor of Ramsey.

  11. Lisa Duffy backed for UKIP leadership by Suzanne Evans

    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

One of UKIPs best-known politicians says she's "given up hope" of standing for the party's leadership and has endorsed Cambridgeshire councillor Lisa Duffy instead.

Suzanne Evans (pictured), who used to be the party's deputy chairman, had been touted as a possible successor to Nigel Farage.

But Ms Evans had been suspended from the party and a recent rule change means she now isn't eligible to take part in the contest.

    Suzanne Evans

At a news conference this morning, she announced she'll be backing Lisa Duffy instead - who is the district councillor for Ramsey and leads the UKIP group on Hunts District Council.

    Mark Williamson

Senior project manager, James Cochrane, says: "This is a single project. Funding on the Abbey Stadium absolutely does rely on the sporting village coming through at the same time."
