Giant generator move set to cause hold-ups in Leeds on Sunday

It's coming from Goole and is going to be installed in Kirkstall, which it's scheduled to arrive at by 13:00. The full route can be viewed here.

Travel update: Earlier A1 incident cleared
Just seen this from Highways England, looks like the tanker has been removed.
I wouldn't bet on there being no delays at all just yet though...
We've got a lane out on the A1(M) northbound, just south of Wentbridge. It's because of a brokjen down taker, but it means there are eight miles of tail backs.
The picture below is taken at J37 of the A1(M), the travel time is 40 minutes at the moment.
Well worth finding another way around it if you can.

- Burst water mains make for good pictures but lousy morning commutes.
- If you're a ginge, like me, it's perhaps better you stay out of the sun.
- If you're a very busy and important person, you've got no need to traipse around the Great Yorkshire Show.
- Sir Patrick Stewart really doesn't age. I mean seriously, he hasn't changed since the 90s.
- And if you're a BBC reporter doing loop the loops, try and at least retain a little bit of dignity.
