    In the meantime, here are five things we learnt today:

    1. A Lincolnshire former Olympian is behind the Gold for Team GB athlete Adam Peaty.

    2. Visitors flock to a Lincolnshire beauty spot. Attendance at Gibraltar Point is up 45%.

    3. It all started so well but now there's injury woes for the Imps.

    4. Women drivers are wanted when it comes to HGV trucking.

    5. Lincolnshire's hockey girls are set for success in Rio, their next match is tonight 22:00.

  6. Consultation period over for directly-elected mayor

    A consultation period on whether Lincolnshire should have a directly-elected Mayor has just ended. 

    The role would be part of a devolution deal for Greater Lincolnshire but its had a mixed reception.

    Now its up to the councillors. The consultation results will be looked at then a decision will be made. All 10 councils will have to agree for it to go ahead.

  7. Lincolnshire's hockey players in action tonight in Rio

    The Lincolnshire quartet of Shona McCallin, Georgie Twigg, Crista Cullen and Hannah Mcleod will look to make it two wins from two in the women's hockey at the Olympic in Rio. 

    The good news is that you won't have to stay up too late to watch it as they face India at 22:00 tonight.

  8. It's the height of summer but gritter drivers needed in Lincolnshire

    It may be 20C today but thoughts are turning to chillier days to come in the county. Drivers are needed to operate the region's gritters.

    They already have 85 drivers but need more to join the team. Recruitment Days are being held tomorrow at Manby and on Thursday at Ancaster.

  9. Police release CCTV images following theft in Louth

    Police are looking to speak with a man pictured in CCTV footage following an alleged theft of a number of polo shirts at Boyes store in Mercer Row in Louth.

    It took place at 14:30 BST on the 27 July. 

    Anyone with information about the man pictured is asked to contact officers on the 101 number.

  10. Watch: Specialist research facility officially opened in Lincolnshire

    More pioneering treatment is to be offered at Lincolnshire hospitals. 

    A new centre focused on medical trials has been officially opened at the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston.

  11. Listen: Lincolnshire coach of Adam Peaty proud of his success

    The girl who brought Gold to Team GB says she's proud of Adam Peaty. Melanie Marshall, who's a former Olympian herself coaches the world record-breaking swimmer in Derby.

    Her sparkling international career saw her break the British 200m freestyle record, reach the podium at the 2008 Short Course World Championships, and claim six Commonwealth medals at the 2006 Games in Melbourne.

  12. Surge in visitors to a Lincolnshire nature reserve

    It's not just feathered friends flocking to a Lincolnshire nature reserve this year. Gibraltar Point says it's seeing bumper visitor numbers.

    The attraction's visitor centre building only opened in May of this year after a £1m revamp after the original was destroyed in the tidal surge of 2013.

  13. Traffic and travel: Lane closed on A607 at Harmston

    A lane is blocked on the A607 Grantham Road Southbound at Harmston between White Lane junction and the Rectory Road junctions. Its causing some disruption in the area.

  14. Traffic and travel: Roadworks causing afternoon delays

    There's congestion on the A17 at Sidebar Lane East which is affecting the A1121 East Heckington due to roadworks. Travel time through this were told is around 45 minutes.

    Queuing traffic also on the A52 London Road in Grantham at the Rycroft Street junction.   

  15. Masked man chases children in Grimsby

    Three children have been chased across a playing field in Grimsby by a masked man. 

    The boys were walking across the field near Carnforth Crescent last week when the man who was wearing a ski mask chased them. 

    They ran to a person  close by and the masked man ran off. None of the boys were hurt.

  16. Lincolnshire haulage firm calls for more female drivers

    How many women lorry drivers do see out and about on the county's roads?

    Well it seems not many, as representatives from the haulage industry in Lincolnshire are backing calls for the sector to clean up its act in a bid to attract more female drivers.

    It's as a report from the Transport Committee says it's "too dirty, too male and too expensive" to attract new drivers. 

    In particular they say the government should do more to attract women and those from ethnic minorities to take up the job.

  19. Struggling Lincolnshire farmers turn to helpline for advice

    Whether it's breakfast of cereals and milk or a Sunday roast we rely on our county farmers to put the goods on the table. However for many that's becoming harder to sustain. 

    Farmers in Lincolnshire are struggling with financial problems and an uncertain future. 

    It's as figures show their income is at its lowest in nearly two decades.
