    2. Sometimes things really do work out for the better.

    4. You should probably think about your company name if you're planning on breaking the rules on minimum wage.
    5. Why is it weird to have a cardboard cut-out of your son hanging around your house? That's not weird. Not odd at all.

  2. MP sends his thoughts to family of A646 crash victim

    This afternoon we've been bringing you the news that a man in his 20s has died after an apparent crash on the A646 between Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge.

    Police say that his body could have been there for up to 24 hours.

  3. Weather: Mostly dry overnight windy tomorrow

    Variable cloud overnight with largely dry conditions. There will always be thicker cloud in the west with a little drizzle for the hills. Gusty winds with minimum temperature of 15C (59F).

  4. Leeds doctor killed in Lake District crash

    A cylist who died yesterday in the Lake District has been identified as 59-year-old Dr Simon Newell from Leeds. 

    It is believed that he fell off his bike on the Newlands Pass, but police are continuing to investigate the collision. 

    His family say he'd been going to Cumbria area to enjoy the mountains for over 30 years and planned to retire there with his wife. 

  5. New Victoria Gate shopping centre 'not unlike Trinity'

    More than 100 products made by Yorkshire companies are going to be sold at the new John Lewis store in Leeds. 

    The department store is part of the new Victoria Gate shopping centre, which opens in October. 

    Eleven firms - within thirty miles of Leeds - have been chosen to be part of this trial. 

    Here's a sneaky look around the semi-complete complex.

  6. Armed robbery in Huddersfield

    A man was robbed at gun point as he got out of his car near his home in Huddersfield.

    Police are looking for two men in connection with the incident, which happened at about 23:30 on Tuesday in Lockwood.

    The victim was approached by a man who demanded money and pointed what he thought was a handgun at him. He handed over a bag which had £1000 and a mobile phone in it.

    A second man was standing nearby as a lookout and they both ran away through a garden on North Street.

    The A646 between Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge remains closed after the earlier incident in which a man in his 20s died.

  8. Death threats for company of Wakefield lorry driver

    Death threats have been received by a transport company over its failure to pay for the repatriation of a Wakefield lorry driver who died in Italy.  

    Paul Stanyard was driving from Greece to Italy when he was found dead in his cab. He died from natural causes, but wasn't covered by insurance.

    It led to a fundraising campaign by Mr Stanyard's family and friends to bring his body back to the UK. The Great Yarmouth-based transport firm's insurance covered the cost of bringing his vehicle back but not his body.

    The boss of the company has apologised to the family, saying it was never the company's intention to let them down.

  9. Watch: Jack Laugher's dad - 'I get too nervous so I stayed at home'

    Yorkshire's celebrating after two Leeds divers won gold at the Olympics. 

    Jack Laugher and Chris Mears have made history winning Britain's first ever Olympic diving title. Tonight Leeds Civic Hall will turn gold in honour of Jack and Chris and the the number 36 bus route is going to be named after Jack.

    Jack's dad David says he didn't want to travel to Rio 2016 because he was worried about affecting Jack's performance.

  13. Watch: Body of crash victim could have been at scene for over 24 hours

    The body of a man who died after crashing his motorcycle between Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd could have been there since yesterday morning according to West Yorkshire Police.

    The investigation into the crash means that the A646 is expected to remain closed until about 16:00 this afternoon.

  14. Batley Bulldogs: Prop agrees move to Wakefield Wildcats

    Super League side Wakefield have signed Batley prop Keegan Hirst on a one-year deal starting from next season.

    Hirst, who became the first British rugby league player to come out as gay in August 2015, has scored two tries in 26 games for Bulldogs this season to help them reach the qualifiers.

    The 28-year-old has previously played for Hunslet, Dewsbury and Featherstone.

    More now on the man that has died following a crash on the A646 between Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd.
