  5. Sheffield man banned for Grimsby Town match vioence

    A Sheffield man has been given a 3 year football banning order after police arrests at a Grimsby Town match with Sheffield United last month.  

    Mariners fans clashed with those at Sheffield United after the match, which left a number of people injured.

  6. Cleethorpes Paddling pool to re-open

    Cleethorpes paddling pool is to reopen on Friday 5 August 2016, after a brief period of closure.

    The pool was closed whilst the plant room underwent necessary repair works, bringing it in line with current Health and Safety standards.

    North East Lincolnshire Council Deputy Leader David Watson said he was delighted the pool was re-opening in time for most of the school holidays

  7. CCTV appeal following assault in Hull

    Detectives are appealing for help in identifying two males they'd like to speak to following an assault and criminal damage at a newsagents on Newland Avenue, Hull on Thursday 28 July.

    A male entered the store and was asked to leave after messing with sweets in the shop by the member of staff. 

    He refused and during a minor scuffle the victim was allegedly spat at and racially abused.

  8. East Riding arts grant announced

    East Riding arts organisations, which had their City of Culture grants turned down, can apply for funding from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. 

    But there's only £30,000 in the pot and applications have to be in by August 31st.

  9. Hull City: Are the Tigers any closer to appointing a new manager?

    With just ten days to go until the start of the new Premier League season, Hull City are still to appoint a permanent replacement for Steve Bruce who left at the end of last month. 

    Chris Coleman, the Wales manager, is wanted by the club who yesterday had an approach rejected by the Football Association of Wales. 

    The former West Ham and Watford boss Gianfranco Zola has also been interviewed for the post but isn't the preferred candidate. 

    However the uncertainty remains a big source of frustration for fans like Geoff Bielby

  10. Train Station looking for pop-up businesses

    Train company TransPennine Express says it's looking for independent and local businesses to sell local produce to customers at Hull Paragon Station.

    The BHS stores in Hull and Grimsby will close for the final time later today.

    200 workers across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire will lose their jobs as a result of the retail chain's collapse. The store on Lincoln high street will temporarily remain open.

  13. Consultation on libraries in East Yorkshire to end

    Up to 4,000 people have taken part in a consultation on the future of the East Riding's libraries. 

    The consultation period ends at midnight tonight. 

    The East Riding Council has produced proposals to relocate six libraries into new multi-service centres, while the Bridlington North Library would close.

  15. Council pleased with Tour de Yorshire announcement

    It's been announced that the East Riding will host a start or finish stage of the Tour de Yorkshire over the next three years. 

    The East Riding of Yorkshire Council says the agreement will help achieve the council’s aim of growing tourism and increasing visitor spend in the East Riding to boost the local economy.
