  2. Places of worship in West Yorkshire to get 'increased attention' from police

    Places of worship are to get "increased attention" from West Yorkshire Police after the yesterday’s attack on a church in northern France.

    They say that there is no specific immediate threat of such acts in the UK or in West Yorkshire, but that they realise people may be concerned after the attack in Rouen.

  4. Listen: Man describes time spent in coffin

    A recovered drug addict and charity worker has spoken of his time spent buried in a coffin to raise awareness of deaths from addiction.

    John Edwards was buried on Friday in Halifax and resurfaced on Monday.

    During his time inside the coffin, which was streamed online, he spoke to people from all over the world, offering messages of support.

    I know we've been spoilt with weather recently, but it's lovely to see the sun shining, here's a pic of the Trinity Shopping Centre in Leeds basking in the sunlight... Anyone got a quid for an ice cream?

  6. Have you seen Wiktoria Jalkiewicz?

    An appeal has been made to find a missing teenager from Castleford.

    Wiktoria Jalkiewicz last last in contact with her family yesterday evening and police have concerns for her safety. 

    The 16-year-old is described as white, slim and as having long blonde hair.

  7. Travel update: M62 slow in a few places tonight

    This is the view on the M62 heading east from Manchester around the M60 junction. Might be worth telling anyone you know coming home from t'otherside tonight.

  8. Second person arrested over alleged Naz Shah threats

    A second arrest has been made in connection with alleged threats against Labour MP for Bradford West Naz Shah

    Earlier, West Yorkshire Police said a 32-year-old woman was arrested yesterday. Today they've taken a 37-year-old man into custody.

    We've got an accident on the M62 westbound, it's taken out two lanes between J25 (A644 Brighouse) and J24 (A629 Ainley Top). It's between two lorries, the queues are currently back to J26.

  11. Leeds woman dies after taking drugs during night out

    A 19 year old woman has died after taking drugs while on a night out in Leeds. 

    Police were contacted shortly after 0300 yesterday after she was brought into St James's Hospital in a critical condition after being taken ill in Pryzm nightclub. The woman underwent emergency treatment but died later that morning. 

    A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
