  6. Charity gets more time to find new base

    A charity that distributes food and clothing to homeless people in Derby's Market Place has been given four weeks to find a new location.

    The city council told Doorways it had to move as its efforts were leading to antisocial behaviour in the area but set a new deadline after talks.

    The Environment Agency is appealing for help to find who was responsible for oil leaking into the River Derwent in Derby.

    It suspects waste engine oil was poured into a surface water drain somewhere in the east Derby or Chaddesden area.

  9. Charity for domestic abuse sufferers under threat

    A lack of funding may mean the closure of a South Derbyshire charity. Next Step has supported people who've suffered from domestic abuse for the past 20 years. 

    The charity says it won't be able to run beyond October without help from the public, and it needs to raise £27,000.
