Humphrys presses rail firms over fares
Rail companies have an obligation to tell us what the cheapest fares are when we buy our tickets.
But when The Times checked out 50 journeys, it found it was possible to get a cheaper fare on 33 of them than the advertised fare.
Jacqueline Starr, managing director of customer experience at the Rail Delivery Group, which represents the rail industry, was taken to task by John Humphrys over the fares.
