    1. Samurai swords taken off South Yorkshire streets during police weapon amnesty
    2. E.coli gets the blame for Doncaster tap water ban
    3. On-street car parking prices to go up in Sheffield
    4. 180 Sheffield jobs saved after Government shake-up
    5. A sheep gets its head stuck in a bucket - it's worth a look!

Before I go, I gave you Jackie's family enjoying the elephants this morning; they've been following the trail around the city and say it's way better than Pokémon GO!

Here's our elephant, affectionately named Martyn, being looked after by Jackie's granddaughters. It's good to know he's getting a lot of love!

  2. Police investigate indecent exposure in Rotherham

    Oli Constable

Police are investigating reports a teenage boy exposed himself to a nine-year-old girl and her friend on The Wellway in Sunnyside at about 18:30 yesterday.

The teenager is described as being about 15-years-old, white and believed to have been wearing a green and black Nike top and black tracksuit bottoms.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in the area and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

  5. Victory as 180 under-threat civil service jobs stay in Sheffield

    Oli Constable

Union officials have welcomed reports that Civil Service jobs set to be moved from the region to London will remain in South Yorkshire.

A campaign was launched after news that around 250 jobs in a business department office in Sheffield would be transferred to the capital under cost-saving and "modernising" plans.

Quote Message: We welcome the fact the Government recognises the value in having policy work located outside the capital and it just underlines how unnecessary and wrong it is for the business department to revert back to being so London-centric." from Mark Serwotka General Secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union

  7. Could this solve Sheffield's traffic problems?

    BBC News England

It may look like something from the future, but China's long-awaited "straddling bus" ran its inaugural test in Hebei province this week.

The 2m-high Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) straddles the cars below, allowing them to pass through.

Powered by electricity, the bus is able to carry up to 300 passengers in its 72ft long and 25ft wide body.

Maybe this is what we need on Sheffield's streets?

  8. Samurai swords among weapons taken off the streets

    Oli Constable

Over 180 weapons are now in police possession and unable to fall into criminal hands following a three-week surrender in South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police launched the weapons amnesty to provide a way for people to dispose of any firearm or knife safely and quickly, with no fear of being prosecuted for possession.

  14. Clegg: Keeping Sheffield jobs 'partial victory for common sense'

    Mick Lunney

    BBC Radio Sheffield

Sheffield Hallam MP and former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg says the Government's decision to keep 180 civil service jobs in Sheffield is a partial victory for common sense.

It reverses a decision to transfer 250 jobs from the Department for Business Skills and Innovation to London.

    70 jobs will still move.

He says the government should now guarantee the rest of the jobs will stay in Sheffield and apologise to workers whose lives have been turned upside down.
