That's all from us for today, but we'll be back with you from 08:00 tomorrow with all the latest news for Beds, Herts and Bucks.

    Here's a round-up of some of today's top stories:

  2. Luton Town sporting venue 'delighted' at plans

A sporting venue in Luton which has been confirmed as the new training facility for Luton Town Football Club has said it's "delighted" to be part of such "exciting plans".

Notice explaining that Luton Town FC have signed lease

Venue 360 on Gipsy Lane, which used to be the Vauxhall Recreation Centre, has received criticism from local sporting clubs for signing a deal with LTFC which means they will no longer have access to the facilities.

In a statement, the venue wrote that they "will do everything possible to minimise disruption" to clubs and will "try to help find new facilities for those who may be permanently displaced, if at all possible".

  3. Watford sign Marseille defender Djedje

    BBC Sport

Watford have signed Marseille wing-back Brice Dja Djedje on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

    Brice Dja Djedje

The 25-year-old, capped seven times by Ivory Coast, made 70 appearances for the Ligue 1 side after joining from Evian in January 2014.

Djedje reportedly turned down interest from Germany to become the Premier League club's fifth summer addition.

  4. Watford bottom of Premier League table

"But the season hasn't even started", I hear you shout.

    Watford FC

However, the table in question looks at how far teams travel during their pre-season friendlies.

While Manchester United clock up the miles with a trip to China and Spurs visit Australia, Watford's games are more low-key.

  5. Travel: M1 northbound slow in Bedfordshire

    BBC Travel

There are two lanes closed on the M1 northbound between J12-J9 due to a broken down lorry. This is causing long delays and affecting traffic on the A5.

  9. Atul Shah suffered 'blunt force' to the head

    Dani Bailey

    BBC Local Live

The "blunt force" Atul Shah suffered to his head appeared to have been caused by several items strewn across his home, including a broom handle and a dumbbell.

Police found "disarray" when they entered Mr Shah's home in Crescent Road, Luton, the jury heard.

The prosecution told Luton Crown Court it was clear the assault on the 47-year-old had taken place in the lounge.

Stuart Trimmer QC said that blood spatter was found on walls, floors and handles in the room.

A large knife blade with the victim's blood on it was found in the kitchen and its handle was under his bed.

Four people deny charges of conspiracy to rob after Luton man Atul Shah was bludgeoned to death in his home in January.

Luton Crown Court heard today that Kyle Pitchford-Price, 23, from Luton; Luke West, 23, from Luton; Corrina Armstrong, 21, of Dovehouse Hill, Luton; and Callum Holton, 19, went to the victim's home in Crescent Road intent on stealing from him.

The prosecution told the jury that although Miss Armstrong and Mr Holton went to the address, they were not involved in the murder.

Mr Pitchford-Price, Mr Holton and Miss Armstrong deny an alternative charge of conspiracy to commit a burglary at Mr Shah's flat. Mr West pleads guilty to the offence.

Mr Pitchford-Price and Miss Armstrong plead guilty to an offence of conspiracy to commit an act tending or intended to pervert the course of public justice. The case continues.

Atul Shah, 47, was found dead in his home in Crescent Road, Luton, on 6 January.

    Dani Bailey

    BBC Local Live

Six motorbike riders sped from Bedford to Hatfield at up to 146mph (235km/h), doing wheelies and swerving in and out of traffic.

St Albans Crown Court heard how police received calls from the public as they tore along the A421 and A1 which Judge John Plumstead said "treated other road users like they were obstacles in a video game".

The journey was filmed on cameras that one of the bikers, Matthew Langley, 37, of Banks Close, Marston Moretaine, attached to his vehicle.

He tried to dispose of the cameras in the Hatfield Tunnel but police recovered them.
