Frances' 'stunning' birthday achievement
A resident of an Ely care home has enjoyed a party to celebrate a landmark birthday.
Frances Gillett, who turns 75 on Sunday, celebrated yesterday at Holly Cottage.

"We believe Frances could be the oldest living female with Down's Syndrome in the country," said manager Wayne Bent.
"What makes the story even more amazing is that Frances has also survived later in life with tuberculosis and breast cancer. The age achievement alone is stunning without the health issues."
A Down's Syndrome Association spokeswoman said: "The average life expectancy for people with Down's Syndrome is between 50 and 60 years, with a small number of people living into their 70s and beyond."
Earlier this year BBC Somerset reported on Kenny Cridge, a man with Down's Syndrome who was celebrating his 76th birthday.

Experts traced ditches, round houses and tracks in Comberton after aerial photos were taken of the site.
Historic England has shared its recent top aerial finds - including those in Buckinghamshire and Suffolk - to celebrate the nationwide Festival of Archaeology.
The crop marks were made by the buried remnants which hold more moisture than the neighbouring soil.
Police release photo in sex assault probe
Cambridgeshire Police want to speak to a man spotted on CCTV after a woman was sexually assaulted in Huntingdon on Sunday.
The victim, in her 20s, was attacked by a man at about 03:00 near the fountain on the High Street.
The woman pushed the man away, before he argued with the victim and her female friend.
Tributes paid to Camgrain site manager Edward Orlopp
The man killed in an industrial incident at a grain store facility in Linton yesterday was always smiling, friends have said.
In a tribute posted on the Suffolk Young Farmers' Club Facebook page, Camgrain site manager Edward Orlopp was said to be the "best friend" of so many people.
"The man we could always rely on to buy a pint, wear the sharpest tweed and crispest shirts, the man who was at every party getting stuck in and always staying 'til the end," it continued.
"You will always be remembered for always wearing a smile whatever the circumstances."
Others wrote about the "loss of a true gentleman" and that he was a "kind, gentle chap".
Camgrain chairman John Latham confirmed in a statement that Mr Orlopp had been killed at its Cambridge Road site.
U's new signing prompted to move by team-mate
New Cambridge United forward George Maris is hoping to provide versatility and flexibility in attack.
The ex-Barnsley player has been a striker for most of his career, but can also operate out wide.
He joined the U's back in June and said his former Barnsley team-mate Luke Berry helped persuade him to make the move south.
Traffic backed up after van hits Ely bridge

Police said they were called at about 15:00 to reports of a vehicle stuck under the bridge.
The A142 is partly blocked and traffic is queued back north of Station Road junction, with a diversion in place via the level crossing, according to BBC Travel.
Sixty minutes of daily exercise slashes early death risk
An hour of exercise a day can be enough to cut the risks of early death associated with sitting down at the office all day, a study led by a Cambridge University professor has revealed.

The recommendation is substantially higher than current guidelines of 150 minutes of exercise per week.
The paper has been published in The Lancet and the study was led by Prof Ulf Ekelund, of the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences and the University of Cambridge.
He warned office workers: "We cannot stress enough the importance of getting exercise, whether it's getting out for a walk at lunchtime, going for a run in the morning or cycling to work."
Being inactive is known to increase the risk of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.

A1 fatal crash: No arrests made

I've just spoken to Cambridgeshire Police about the fatal A1 crash in the early hours on the Cambs-Beds border.
They say the investigation is still ongoing and that no arrests have been made.
A woman in her 30s will be formally identified tomorrow. She died after being hit by a lorry on the southbound carriageway near Eaton Socon at about 03:00.
Grain store victim was site manager
The man who died at a grain store in Linton has been named by the company as site manager Edward Orlopp.
In a statement, Camgrain chairman John Latham said: "It is with great sadness I have to inform you that our long-standing site manager, valued colleague and friend, Edward Orlopp, tragically lost his life in an incident at our Linton site."

She said UKIP's former deputy chairwoman Suzanne Evans, who was suspended from the party for misconduct in March after clashes with Mr Farage, had been treated unfairly.
Ms Evans has thrown her weight behind Ms Duffy's bid for the top job after conceding she had "given up hope" of succeeding Mr Farage herself.
Former TK Maxx store manager Ms Duffy said she would set the "right tone" as leader.
She said: "I'm not a faction. I'm actually somebody that builds teams. People like Suzanne have been treated unfairly, as have others within our party. This is time for a change. We do that with the right team, with the right leader."

BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winner Sam, who is originally from Spixworth, near Norwich, but now lives in Cornwall, told me: "This festival really is the pinnacle for me; it was my local folk festival as a kid, and the first festival I ever went to.
"To have the chance to come back and play for a third year running is an absolute privilege."
Norfolk band's debut appearance at Cambridge festival
The festival, which has sold out, runs from today to Sunday and is headlined by Irish folk singer Christy Moore.
The Georgia Shackleton Trio combine vocals, fiddle, guitar, mandolin and banjo to play a blend of Americana, folk and self-penned material.
Georgia told the BBC: "We are very excited to be playing at Cambridge Folk Festival this year. It's always been a favourite of ours to attend, so we were so pleased to be able to include it in our first year of festival dates as a trio.
"There are so many great acts playing at Cambridge this year and we're really happy to be a part of it. We hope to catch some of them again later in the summer at Broadstairs, Towersey and FolkEast."

Lisa Duffy bids to take over from Nigel Farage
Cambridgeshire UKIP councillor Lisa Duffy is launching her leadership bid today after Nigel Farage announced he is stepping down.

Some national papers have dubbed Mrs Duffy as an "unknown councillor", but she has told the BBC she wants to be the leader and take the party forward into Westminster.
She said: "Not being an MEP is actually a strength. I decided not to go forward to be an MEP because I didn't want to work over in Brussels, I didn't want to be part of that gravy train.
"What I wanted to do is build up the UKIP base over here. Being an unknown for the national media, the people who know me know what I can deliver, so I can do this."
It sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, ambulance officer, a hazardous area response team and an air ambulance response car, but as we reported earlier, sadly the man died at the scene.
He has not yet been named, or an age given for him.

As we've been reporting, a man was killed at an industrial site in Linton yesterday.
It took place at Camgrain in Cambridge Road, which is a farmer-owned grain storage co-operative.
It operates four sites - two in Cambridgeshire, one in Kettering and one in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Linton store was the first of the co-operative's sites to be developed in 1983.
It's spread across 15 acres (six hectares) and the site stores more than 150,000 tonnes of grain annually - the majority of which is malting barley.

The East of England Ambulance Service said it was called to reports of a road traffic collision at 17:12 at Camgrain Stores in Linton.
It sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, ambulance officer, a hazardous area response team and an air ambulance response car, but as we reported earlier, sadly the man died at the scene.
He has not yet been named, or an age given for him.
