Do you fancy a job influencing policing in North Yorkshire and holding the force to account? Well, now's your chance.
Don Mackenzie, executive member for highways for North Yorkshire County Council says he believes the charges will benefit the town.
He says: "I realise some people believe these charges will have a detrimental impact on Harrogate, but I am not aware of any conclusive evidence that reasonable parking charges have a negative impact on town centre economies.
"I believe introducing charges and encouraging more rapid turnover or premium parking spaces on-street on Sundays will be good for businesses.
"At the moment on Sundays those streets are fully parked-up, people have no incentive to move on and many people are simply parking for convenience and are not going into shops, restaurants or pubs to support our economy."

Police are continuing to appeal for motorists and hauliers to come forward if they have dash cam footage showing the collision or events leading up to it.

We could see some very thin high cloud move in along the east coast where conditions will feel fresher.
But it should still feel warmer than yesterday in the sun with highs of about 24C (75F).

Surgery waiting times: North Yorkshire better than most
Jonathan Cowap

Patients in England who need planned NHS surgery are facing longer waiting times, according to the Patients Association charity.
They say the number of people waiting over the 18 weeks NHS target for elective surgery is up by almost 80%.
It fears the scrapping of fines for hospitals which miss targets on waiting times will make matters worse.
The government has criticised the charity's findings as unreliable and misleading.

The vase has a curious back story. It's thought that the Brides in the Bath murderer, George Joseph Smith, gave it to a distant relative of John's wife in the early 1900s.
Smith was apparently due to marry this relative and possibly make her another of his victims.
Luckily, he was arrested before he could carry out another grisly murder...
