Drive-in ambition: A taste of 1950s America comes to York
Jim Addyman
BBC Local Live, York
Don't be surprised if the roads around York resemble a scene from the film American Graffiti tonight - a taste of 1950s America is coming to Monks Cross.

That decade was the heyday for drive-in cinemas in the USA and tonight you can re-live the experience with a screening of Pretty Woman.
Maybe you could even turn up in a Buick Roadmaster or Cadillac Coupe De Ville, drop the top and settle down with some popcorn to make the experience more authentic?
The film's sound will be transmitted directly into the vehicle's in-car audio system.
The festival, which lasts for 10 days, features 65 different events, 16 art shows and special dishes served up by local restaurants.
The organisers have come up with lots of street entertainment and activities for the kids during the day, while in the evenings the adults can enjoy music, theatre and literary events.
A returning favourite is the Urban Beach, set up at Henshaws College.
Rufus Beckett, from the college, has explained to me why it's such a popular attraction:

They were called out to help after a man in his 40s collapsed in his car near the junction with Scarcroft Road and needed hospital treatment.
Despite the narrowness of the street, the Air Ambulance was able to land and take off safely.
Most people, so the old adage goes, have at least one book in them and many beaver away for years without ever finishing their magnum opus.
That's not the case with Green Hammerton writer APS Daniel - or Andrea, to her friends - who not only completed her novel, but did it in hospital during chemotherapy for breast cancer.
Andrea now aims to raise more than £10,000 for breast cancer care at York Teaching Hospital and hopes 1,000 people will donate £10, for which each donor receives a copy of the novel.
She explained to me why she decided to set her novel in Portugal:

Yorkshire coping stones were stolen from a number of garden walls on Raikes Road, Salisbury Street, Tarn Moor Crescent and Gainsborough Court between 1 and 7 August.

Workers on Virgin Trains East Coast - whose trains runs through York Railway Station - are to stage three 24-hour strikes, including one on Bank Holiday Monday, in a row over jobs, working conditions and safety, the RMT union confirms.
If undiscovered, the theft could have put lives at risk during an emergency, the Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) has warned.
The equipment had been put in place ahead of this weekend's EuroSpeleo 2016 caving festival which is expected to attract cavers from across the UK and Europe.
A CRO spokesman says: "The Cave Rescue Organisation condemns most strongly the removal of this essential safety equipment, which potentially places the lives of team members and other cavers at risk."
Anyone with information about the theft is being urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
