The retro arcade-style Meat is Murder game - soundtracked by The Smiths song of the same name - is called The Beautiful Creature Must Die and involves saving animals from being slaughtered by spinning blades and bombs.

  5. Victorian portraits of Radiohead to on display

    Radiohead

Rare Victorian-style portraits of Radiohead are going on display at a new photography exhibition in London.

The glass printed shots by music photographer Sebastian Edge, who took the official press shots for the band’s The King of Limbs LP in 2011, will be exhibited at the Metropolis Studios in west London from 13 October.

Edge specialises in the 19th century Wet Plate Collodion process, which uses sheets of glass instead of traditional camera film to present the images, shooting them on a camera built from hand-made ‘Hurricane’ timber.

Edge told The Line of Best Fit he spent a day in the woods with the band and a day at their studio processing the photographs.

“Colin (Greenwood, bassist) loved it, being a photographer himself," he said.

"And after a while I think they realised these weren’t just photos, they are works of handcrafted art and as analogue and as hands on as it could possibly get!”

  6. No Limit for Usher in new music video

  7. Paul McCartney hints at live retirement

    Rolling Stone magazine

    Sir Paul McCartney

He is 74 years old and has been in one of the biggest bands in music history so few would argue that Sir Paul McCartney has earned his retirement.

The Beatles legend - who is currently in the middle of a world tour - has told Rolling Stone he may soon need to slow down.

Sir Paul said that it would be "unimaginable - and unseemly" to still be touring at 80.

"People say age is a number. It's a big number the older you get," he added.

"But if it doesn't interfere, I'm not bothered. You can ignore it. That's what I do."

  13. Stranger Things soundtrack will be in two volumes

If you haven't yet become addicted to Netflix's spooky new 80's-style series Stranger Things, you'll almost certainly have ended up feeling left out of or baffled by your mates conversations about it.

Volume 1 is due on streaming services tomorrow, while Volume 2 will follow next Friday and a CD release of both is planned for September.

  15. Keane singer Tom Chaplin shares solo material

Tom Chaplin, erstwhile singer with emotive piano-led balladeers Keane, has embarked on a solo career.

Luckily for fans of the band, Tom has resisted the urge to go fully metal and stuck with tugging on heartstrings with more sensitive tales of angst.

His debut solo album, The Wave, is due on on 14 October, written by Tom and produced by Matt Hales of Aqualung, who's worked with stars including Lianne La Havas.

  16. Belle & Sebastian share Olympics-themed music

It has been a great start to Rio 2016, with a haul of six medals for Team GB on day five of the games.

It looks like sensitive Scots indie band Belle & Sebastian have been glued to the telly watching the Olympics like everyone else and it's inspired them to release an unofficial theme.

The instrumental piece is coming out to coincide with the track & field events.

Stuart Murdoch from the band said:”Belle and Sebastian dig the Olympics, love the Olympic ideal, love that the world gets together for a big 'sports day' once every four years."

  17. Slaves new material won't be as 'polite' as first album

Kent punk duo Slaves say their forthcoming second album will be heavier than their debut Are You Satisfied, which charted at number eight in the UK last year

Their new track Spit It Out was Annie Mac's Hottest Record on Wednesday night.

The band, made up of Laurie Vincent on guitars and vocals and Isaac Holman on drums, told Annie:

"The first album, we really loved it but it felt a bit too polite for us so we went back to our roots and listened to all the music that we formed the band loving and decided to put out something really heavy."

The lads wouldn't be drawn on a release date for the new album but said "it's coming out this year. Maybe. Hopefully."

Slaves are playing an intimate show at the 100 Club in London tonight and will be heading to play the Reading and Leeds festivals later this month.

    Deadline Hollywood

    Rihanna

Warner Bros has confirmed filming will start in October in New York, with Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh as producer.
