    • An evening walk-in centre could open at Grantham Hospital within a matter of weeks.
    • A police helicopter's been scrambled after a woman alleged she was assaulted at woods near Boston this afternoon.
    • A farm worker's died after being struck by a slab of concrete at a farm near Sleaford.
    • Roads heading towards the Lincolnshire coast are exceptionally busy as thousands of people head to the seaside resorts for the Bank Holiday weekend.
    • It's emerged that a sacked Lincolnshire police officer who stole a canoe and sold it on eBay had represented the UK in the sport at the World Championships.

  4. Football: Lincoln City striker will be fit for double header

    Lincoln City's Matt Rhead will be fit for Saturday's match against Macclesfield, it's been revealed.

    Manager Danny Cowley says the striker will be available for the two matches over the weekend. 

    Rhead has been missing with a hamstring injury but could come straight back into the starting 11 at Macclesfield.

  6. BreakingPolice helicopter helps in search in Boston

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

    A police helicopter is helping in a search around Boston after a woman was assaulted this afternoon. 

    The incident took place at around 14:00 at Westwood Lakes Woods in Wyberton.

    Officers are currently on the scene.

  7. Travel: Heavy traffic towards Lincolnshire coast

    Roads heading towards the Lincolnshire coast are exceptionally busy as thousands of people head to the seaside resorts for the Bank Holiday weekend. 

    There is currently heavy traffic on the A158 at Wragby and Horncastle.

  9. Sacked kayak theft officer represented UK at world championships

    We have more on the story about the sacked police officer who sold a stolen kayak and paddles on eBay.

    It has emerged that he recently represented the UK at the canoeing world championships.

    PC Andrew Hamilton was dismissed by Lincolnshire Police for gross misconduct on Wednesday.

  11. Sport in Lincolnshire this weekend

    Lincoln City take on Gateshead at home on Bank Holiday Monday, kicking off at Sincil Bank Stadium at 15:00. 

    Scunthorpe FC are away to Port Vale tomorrow, when League Two side Grimsby Town play Stevenage at home

    Meanwhile, non-league teams Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity, Grantham Town and Stamford AFC also play and there will be updates on BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

    A farmer honoured for his work with flood victims has appealed for the return of his MBE after thieves stole his car containing the award.

    Andrew Ward founded the Forage Aid charity to help livestock producers hit by bad weather in 2014.

  15. NHS bosses confirm plans for new minor illness and injury service at Grantham Hospital

    NHS managers in Lincolnshire have confirmed they are working to provide a new short-term minor illness and injuries service at Grantham Hospital.

    The hospital A&E department is currently closed from 18:30 after United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said it didn't have enough staff. 

    The new service would be open until 11.30pm and could be available from mid-September.

    A walk-in centre could be provided for patients at Grantham and District Hospital until 23:30 at night, it has been claimed.

    The hospital A&E department is currently closed from 18:30 after United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said it didn't have enough staff. 

    Martin Hill, the leader of Lincolnshire County Council, says he has managed to get agreement to the idea of a walk-in.

    The hospital trust has not yet commented.
