A warm but cloudy start tomorrow. The cloud will break up fairly quickly through the morning and there will be some decent sunshine into the afternoon.

The manager of Castle Mead Radio says he's optimistic they will still be on the airwaves despite uncertainty over the future of Mount Road Hospital in Hinckley.

Atif Sheikh is an outstandingly quick young bowler, a very fast left arm seamer but he's a little bit inconsistent.

I think there have also been one or two issues in terms of discipline and things like that so maybe it's better he goes on and finds another club.

It is a little bit of a surprise about Rob Taylor in particular - I think he's been pretty effective in white-ball cricket. 

He's a very good all-rounder - a class batsman, a very useful left arm swing and seam bowler and a very fine fielder as well. It might have been thought that he'd have had a role in white-ball cricket.

Luckily I've never needed to go to Mount Road Hospital in Hinckley but if I had I might have found myself listening to Castle Mead Radio.

It's the hospital's radio station and one of the smallest in the country.

There's been a lot of uproar recently about plans to close the hospital - so does this also mean the end for the station?

The future of a park fun day that attracts thousands of visitors a year is in jeopardy because of council cuts.

The M1 has a lane blocked on the exit slip road northbound at J19. There's a broken down car and recovery work going on, with congestion is back to J18.

Police are looking for two men suspected of burgling a house in Markfield on 10 August.

The house in Copt Oak was broken into at about 18:30 with the suspects taking money and getting away on foot in the direction of Shepshed.

It's one of the last 35 BHS shops that are still open but is expected to close this week.

British Home Stores is set to disappear from the high street entirely by the weekend.

Well it was certainly sunnier...

It seems like there's still a lot of work to be done over in Barrow Upon Soar. 

The bridge over the Midland Main Line is still closed to vehicles and plans to make the bridge safe for traffic again are still being drawn up.

Dr Saeeda Shah, from the University of Leicester, said: "Banning any type of clothing by measuring it against secular and religious criteria is not only simplistic and highly problematic.

"It rightly raises questions such as why religious symbols including the Jewish Kippa, the Sikh turban and the headdresses of Christian nuns were not being banned.

"Rulings such as banning of birkinis is one more step barring them from participation in the public as equal citizens."  

There's good news for commuters in Barrow upon Soar - the bridge over the Midland Mainline that partially collapsed earlier this month has reopened to pedestrians.

There's been disruption at the station since 1 August when the collapse happened.

The footpath now has a 2.4m high fence.

It's basically a swimming costume that covers the whole body and is often worn by Muslim women.  

According to an expert at the University of Leicester, banning the swimwear is a step towards depriving Muslim women of equal citizenship.

Leicester CCC's chief executive Wasim Khan paid tribute to batsman Ned Eckersley after he put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.

He said: "The fact that he has broken some long-standing records for centuries batting at number seven, particularly after bouncing back from the disappointment of a pre-season injury, shows his class and character."

So what happens next? Well the teachers have sent their idea to the vice-chancellor of the university to look at. 

The university has held a meeting to discuss the plans and now the teachers are awaiting a response, with a final decision on the centre's future due next month.

If the university went ahead with the plan for the Vaughan Centre the department would become a "central service", according to tutor Elizabeth Bryant.

She says it would also probably be "self-sustaining".
