  2. Hull City's latest signings

    Hull City have begun their late team building ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline by signing two players today. 

    First in was goalkeeper David Marshall from Cardiff on a three year contract.

    The fee is undisclosed but believed to be in the region of £3m.

    And then came the news that the Tigers have finally completed the signing of Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason for an undisclosed club record transfer fee.

    There was late interest from Sunderland for Mason's signature but he picked Hull City. 

    He joins the likes of Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore as ex-Spurs players in the ranks and that's bound to have been influential. 

    Still on the go is a move for Manchester United striker Will Keane... He's thought to be undergoing a medical today.

  3. Woman assaulted by cyclist in Hull

    Police are investigating the indecent assault of a woman in Hull.

    She was walking alone close to Britannia House on Spring Bank on Sunday 20 August when a man on a bicycle assaulted the woman. 

    The victim says as she carried on walking along Freetown Way he returned and assaulted her again while making comments.

  4. Traffic and travel: Broken down lorry on M180

    There's severe delays on the M180 between junction 4 (Scawby) and junction 5 (Barnetby Top) A15 eastbound.

  5. Hull City sign Ryan Mason

    Hull City have added England International Ryan Mason to their ranks from Tottenham Hotspur.

    The 25-year-old Midfielder has joined the Tigers for a club record undisclosed fee, more than the amount paid for Abel Hernandez two years ago.

  6. Calls for support for glass lift on Humber Bridge

    The Humber Bridge Board has written to people living in Hessle encouraging them to support new plans for development. 

    They want to create an attraction with a glass elevator on the Humber Bridge, a hotel, office complex and restaurant. 

    It's claimed it would be worth £16m to the local economy and bring another 400 jobs.

    Councillor David Nolan from Hessle Town Council says despite the potential economic benefits there are still concerns that need addressing.

  7. Departing Gillespie would consider Yorkshire return

    Yorkshire head coach Jason Gillespie is open to the possibility of returning to the club in the future after announcing his decision to leave on Sunday.

    Gillespie took charge of Yorkshire in 2011, but is returning to his native Australia to be closer to his family.

    The 41-year-old took the county from the second division to consecutive county championship titles.

    "Who knows what will happen in the future? I wouldn't say no moving forward," he said.

  8. Man charge with Grimsby jewellers robbery

    A man's been charged with a robbery at a Grimsby jewellers that happened back in March.

    Following a police (pictured) investigation into the high value theft, Joshua James O'Dea from Honister Road in Manchester has now been charged.

    The 26-year-old appeared at Grimsby and Cleethorpes Magistrates on Saturday.

    A 32-year-old woman and 52-year-old man who were arrested in connection with the robbery have now been released without charge.

  11. Unnecessary cancer treatment was 'exhausting'

    A woman from Caistor who found out she was wrongly given four rounds of chemotherapy, has told me she discovered the mistake when she researched her symptoms online. 

    The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital's NHS Trust has admitted offering Jodi Huggett chemotherapy after treatment for a low grade form of bowel cancer breached the hospital's duty of trust.

    A spokesman for Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust says: "The Trust has admitted breaching its duty of care towards Mrs Huggett for suggesting a form of treatment which was inappropriate in her particular circumstances. 

    For this, we would like to offer Mrs Huggett our sincere apologies, and we can confirm that an out of court settlement has now been agreed."

  12. Former East Riding councillor in court charged with historical sex assaults

    A former conservative councillor on East Riding Council has been charged with nine cases of historical sex assault. 

    The allegations against Arthur Hodgson (pictured) date back to the 1980's and concern three women who were teenagers at the time.

    Mr. Hodgson, of Keyingham, appeared before magistrates in Hull and has been bailed to appear at Hull Crown Court on the 15 September. 

    In June he resigned as a councillor and as a governor of Keyingham Primary School.   

  13. Stem cell 'huge difference' says patient

    A multiple sclerosis patient from East Yorkshire says pioneering stem cell treatment has improved his condition so much that he may be able to return to work. 

    Lance Gordon, who lives near Beverley, had to raise £40,000 to travel to Mexico for the procedure, but says it's already making a huge difference to his quality of life.

    The treatment Lance is undergoing, HSCT, is in a trial phase here in the UK, but there is caution about whether it will help more than just a handful of patients with MS. 

    The MS Society say they are looking forward to seeing the results of the trials because it does hold a lot of promise, but say at the moment the treatment does also carry a lot of risk.

  14. BreakingHull City signing

    Hull City have signed goalkeeper David Marshall from Cardiff City. 

    The 31-year-old Scottish International has signed a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £3m.

    Marshall made almost 300 appearances for Cardiff, helping them to win promotion to the Premier League in 2013.

  15. Calls for more funding for East Riding Schools

    Nine East Riding secondary schools will get into financial problems unless the government provides extra funding, according to the East Riding Council. 

    It's writing to the Education Secretary Justine Greening (pictured) asking for extra money to tide the schools over until 2018 when a more generous funding formula is expected to come in to force.

  16. Grimsby Town to take on Walsall

    Grimsby Town could give a debut to Zak Mills (pictured) in their opening group game of the EFL Trophy at Walsall this evening. 

    He's been an unused substitute in the last two matches after overcoming the injuries he picked up soon after signing for the club.

    The Mariners also say that striker Kayden Jackson could also miss out this evening with a tight quadriceps muscle.

  17. Scunthorpe United take on Middlesbrough

    Scunthorpe United boss Graham Alexander will rest some of his senior players at home to Middlesbrough Under 23's in the EFL Trophy this evening. 

    But the Iron manager won't be without some of his most influential players.

    He says it's an opportunity to share the workload around his squad:

  18. Appeal over wanted men in Scunthorpe

    Police want to locate two men from Scunthorpe for bail offences.

    They've already checked addresses in Scunthorpe and Winteringham in their search for 25-year old Liam Taylor (pictured).

    They are also looking for 27-year old Anthony Bardsley (pictured below) on warrant and bail offences and have been searching the Scunthorpe area. 

    Police say both men should hand themselves in to a local police station.
