The stolen VW Golf was speeding along Leeds Road in Dewsbury on 12 July when it collided with a white Ssangyong Korando, which was reversing from a driveway with a 35-year-old woman and her daughter inside.

The woman was airlifted to hospital and required treatment for serious facial injuries. Her daughter was unharmed.

  14. Huddersfield waste site fire 'could pollute River Holme'

Fire crews are expected to spend most of today at a waste tip in Huddersfield after a major fire last night.

The fire on Queens Mill Road in Lockwood started just after 05:30.

The Environment Agency said the burning waste was non-hazardous, but there was a potential risk to the River Holme which was being closely monitored.

Quote Message: Our officers are on site, assessing the potential impact on the environment, including that posed by the fire water run-off. It appears that most of the run-off is entering the foul sewer, but there is a potential risk to the nearby River Holme, so we are investigating this risk further and will consider taking protective measures, if required. from Environment Agency
