  2. Tonight's EFL Cup round-up

    All three sides facing teams in leagues higher than their own put on valiant displays but weren't able to provide any cup upsets.

    Bristol Rovers were beaten 3-2 by Chelsea, Yeovil went down 4-0 at Everton and Cheltenham lost 2-0 to Newcastle.

    But the teams and their supporters seem to have gained some new friends.

  3. Olympians return: Jazz Carlin's 'dreams have come true'

    It all started with the Tigersharks Swimming Club in Swindon, now one of their members has come back with an Olympic medal.

    Jazz Carlin won two silver medals in the women's 800m and 400m freestyle and hopes it can inspire the next generation to chase their dreams.

  4. Olympians return: Alex Gregory admits to Rio challenges

    Rower Alex Gregory won his second gold medal in Rio, helping Great Britain claim a fifth consecutive Olympic title in the men's coxless four.

    Alex, who was born in Cheltenham, and team-mates Mohamed Sbihi, George Nash, Constantine Louloudis finished in five minutes 58.61 seconds.

  5. Lifeboat rescues yacht in high winds

    The RNLI lifeboat was called to help a small yacht which was in difficulty off Redcliffe Bay in Portishead at the weekend.

    When they got to the boat, the three people on board revealed they only had one life jacket between them.

    The boat was eventually towed to safety.

    On the last but one day of the dig they have uncovered something not seen for more than 1,500 years.
