Noah makes first entry into top 10 baby names for boys
The name Noah has entered the top 10 most popular boys' names for the first time, while Amelia has remained the most popular for girls, the Office for National Statistics said.

'Significant progress' in Doncaster children's services
A victim of the Smiler rollercoaster crash at Alton Towers - in which two South Yorkshire teenagers were seriously injured - has called for the ride to be shut indefinitely after 30 people were trapped in a new incident.
Leah Washington, 17, from Barnsley, had one of her legs amputated, while her 18-year-old boyfriend, Joe Pugh, also from Barnsley, shattered his knees in the accident on 2 June 2015.
The ride was evacuated and later reopened yesterday after a piece of rubber came away from one of the carriages.

We're not talking ripe and ready to eat in a supermarket, instead Austin Grant is growing them in his back garden.

Austin bought the plant from a high street garden centre about nine years ago and they're now about 15ft high.
Now he's starting to benefit from the fruits of his labour and the banana fruit is starting to ripen.
He says he knows lots of recipes using bananas, which is a good thing because he has a dozen plants!

A new sculpture's being dedicated at a war memorial in Sheffield this weekend.

The ceremony will be led by the Bishop of Doncaster and the statue will be unveiled by Michelle Ping, a paramedic and Royal Navy reservist from Sheffield who was awarded the top military honour of being Mentioned in Despatches, for saving the life of a wounded soldier in Afghanistan.
The war memorial at Storrs Wood and the new statue are the work of Stoneface, otherwise known as artist Andrew Vickers.

Listen: Sheffield group calls for more to be done to help refugees

The group City of Sancuary is to present a petition to the Sheffield City Council next week, calling for more to be done to help refugees.
A total of 44 Syrian refugees have been resettled in South Yorkshire since 2014.
Mike Reynolds of the group says the campaign is on a national as well as a local level.
The 21-year-old former Chesterfield College student was killed in a knife attack at a hostel in North Queensland.
Mia spent most of the year living at the Surfers Paradise where she worked at The Bedroom nightclub but left in August to spend three months working on North Queensland farms to extend her holiday visa.

A three-year-old girl has been airlifted to Sheffield Children's Hospital after suffering a serious back injury in a fall in Bentley, Doncaster yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a property on Washington Grove at around 16:00 after reports of a child with a serious injury.
The girl was flown to the hospital in a life-threatening condition, however is now said to be stable.

It's been a rocky start for the new market in Barnsley, after the fire brigade were called and the centre was evacuated after "smoke" was spotted following a power cut.
The council says it was actually exhaust fumes from the back-up generators at the site.

More than 1,000 people in India have been given access to fresh drinking water thanks to a University of Sheffield project.
A new water bore-well was completed last month, meaning 1,070 people in Andhra Pradeshl, India, can now drink safe water.

Life Water, sold in all the University of Sheffield’s cafés and restaurants , is a charity providing clean drinking water to communities that need it.
For every bottle of water sold, funds are raised towards the construction of new fresh water wells in India.

'Significant progress' in Doncaster children's services
Efforts to improve children's services in Doncaster have shown "significant progress", a government watchdog has found.
Ofsted said it saw no cases where children were judged to be at risk following a monitoring inspection.
It followed an inadequate rating in a full inspection last year.

An investigation is being held into complaints against the woman who first exposed the child sexual abuse scandal in Rotherham.
Jayne Senior was made an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June for services to child protection.
Rotherham Council said it had received three complaints, and "an independent investigation is now under way".
Funeral held for British backpacker killed in Australia
