That’s Fronkensteen

Simon Mayo

Presenter

Sad news about Gene Wilder, what a fine comedy actor he was. Young Frankenstein was always my favourite-he and Marty Feldman shared so many great scenes. I interviewed him in 2008 (I think) and remember thinking that almost everything he said was funny, because of that voice and because he was Gene Wilder. Even when you hear brief clips of his interviews, his timing is first rate, every time.

Good night Herr Doktor
Good night Frau Blucher

See, told yo.

Anyway, I’ve been active. Hanging out at airports, standing in fields, talking to bloggers, sitting in tents, listening to stories, writing words, crossing words out, writing different words instead and generally being a nuisance. Oh, and doing the ARM yesterday. Always enjoy those shows and love that feeling of easing into the ‘back to work/school’ feel. Lets buy school shoes, get the uniform dry-cleaned, get new games kit. Or the middle age equivalent of new season shoes, some moisturiser to hang on to your tan and a looser gym top.
So some TUNESDAY action for you today after 6

And LEGENDARY oldies please as tonight The Legendary Angela Lansbury is on Radio 2 at 10pm tonight talking to Emma Thompson about her 70 years of fame-that’s SEVENTY YEARS everyone. Unmissable.
