The winds continue to pick up this evening, and a band of rain moves in from the west later on. 

A few heavy spells of rain are likely overnight, with lows of around 14C.

A woman who deliberately drove a stolen car into a man and then reversed over his legs during a street brawl in Hull has been jailed for nine years.

Estelle Lashley, 26, of Elm Street, left her victim with two broken legs and unable to walk for six months.

She drove a gang of bat wielding attackers to Coltman street on 5 July to settle a row over money.

Sentencing her at Hull Crown Court, Judge Mark Bury said Lashley had "behaved appallingly badly".

Lashley was also banned from driving for four years after admitting to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, aggravated vehicle taking and driving without insurance.

The major demolition of historic buildings on Grimsby docks has started today - despite huge opposition.

Associated British Ports applied to knock down the buildings on Fish Dock Road and the council approved its plans.

The six 19th and early 20th century buildings, collectively called the Cosalt Buildings, make up the principal street in an small area of historic streets known as the Kasbah, stated by Historic England, the government’s national heritage advisers, to be unique in the world.

Police have released an E-Fit of a man they would like to speak to about an alleged attempted abduction in South Cave. 

The incident took place on Wednesday, a 41-year-old woman was walking her dog when she claims a man grabbed her and dragged her away from Church Hill.

The woman managed to break free from his grasp and ran away, reporting the incident to the police shortly after. 

The suspect is described as white, aged around 60 with a medium build and grey hair. He wore a blue hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms. 

Anyone with any information can contact the police.

A young woman who pleaded guilty to driving over a man following a street fight has been sentenced to 9 years in prison. 

Estelle Lashley (pictured) pleaded guilty to a number of charges after shocking CCTV footage emerged of her deliberately driving the car over the victim.

She's also disqualified from driving for 4 years after her release.

A Hull MP says she won't be calling for action over Hull's tethered horses despite receiving a large amount of letters from concerned constituents. 

This morning Diana Johnson went out with council inspectors to check on horses which are held on land in East Hull.

She says she's been reassured that the animals aren't badly treated.

This year for the first time, Butt Farm Caravan and Camping Site is opening up their anti aircraft base to the public.

Found behind a bramble bush, the site consists of four buildings where the anti aircraft gun would sit and a command post.

A school in Hull is one of the first in the country, picked by the Government, to be part of a programme that teaches more children how to speak Mandarin Chinese. 

The Department for Education wants five thousand students to be fluent in the language by 2020. 

The Archbishop Sentamu Academy already offers the subject at GCSE level but have selected a group of year seven students to work longer school days, learning the language.

Hull Kingston Rovers have said that signing Tim Sheens is one of the clubs biggest appointments in their history.

Sheens has a wealth of experience in the game, both at club and international level.
