Recovery vehicles will be used to remove motorhomes from a site in Daventry if a group of travellers haven't left by Monday morning, according to a senior police officer.
A court order requiring them to vacate the playing fields was granted by magistrates earlier today, but police have said there'll be no enforcement action until Monday. The travellers have said they will leave of their own accord on Sunday evening.
They've told police they've been on holiday in Daventry and are returning to London where their children are at school.
They've apologised for disturbances in the town on Tuesday night.

The district sergeant for Daventry, Sam Dobbs, says a group of travellers camped on Eastern Way playing fields have indicated they'll vacate the site "of their own accord" by Sunday evening.
If they don't, officials will move in on Monday to enforce a court order requiring them to go.

There were incidents of anti-social behaviour in the town centre on Tuesday night which the police described as "disgraceful and unacceptable", but Sgt Dobbs says the travellers are now being co-operative and are allowing officers to patrol the site.
He said: "They've now been quite rueful and apologetic for the disturbance they now know they caused on Tuesday night. They've said they'll clear their rubbish and they have been compliant since Tuesday."
Josh Cobb signs new County Ground contract

Northamptonshire batsman Josh Cobb has signed a new three-year deal on the eve of T20 finals day.
He's in his second season at the County Ground after joining from Leicestershire, and was out of contract in the winter.
Cobb and his team-mates are in action at Edgbaston tomorrow, playing Nottinghamshire at 11:00.

T20 finals day is fast approaching, with Northamptonshire having the advantage of being the only team involved on the day who've won the competition before.
They face Notts Outlaws in the first semi-final at Egbaston. If they make it through, they'll meet Yorkshire or Durham.

Northamptonshire defied the odds to win the tournament in 2013 and almost repeated that success last year against Lancashire.
Chief executive, Ray Payne, said "this year, our fortunes are turning around - thank goodness - it's really been due to the support we've had.
"People have seen some great cricket in both formats and it really has put some new life into the club."

Winds are forecast to increase overnight, with a few showers possible towards the end of the night and a minimum of 14C (57F).
Tomorrow will start dry, but winds will strengthen and scattered blustery showers are expected by the end of the day.
The Daily Mail is reporting a delivery van driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel and drifted across a busy road in Finedon, narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic.
The incident was captured on a "dashcam" by a motorist driving in the opposite direction along the A6.
The motorist claims a passenger in the van had to shake the driver to wake him up.
Police say they can't find a record of the incident being reported, but the delivery company has confirmed it's investigating the allegation.

The A6 at Rothwell has reopened following a serious accident in which a man died.
The incident involved a recovery truck and happened at around 02:00.
The road was closed for several hours between the A14 junction and the Braybrooke Road roundabout.

Northampton paedophile who downloaded images of children jailed

A Northampton man who downloaded videos and pictures of children being abused has been jailed at Northampton Crown Court.
Michael Moffat, 56, from Welford Road in the town, had his home raided by police in July.
The high-tech crime unit at Northants Police found a 41 minute video of young children being abused on his computer, as well as more than 40 indecent images of children.
The court heard he had also taken pictures of young children at a bus stop outside his home.
Moffat pleaded guilty to six counts of downloading indecent images of children and was sentenced to eight months imprisonment and a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in place for ten years.

A court order has been handed down requiring a group of travellers on playing fields in Daventry to leave within 24 hours.
The police say action's unlikely to be taken until Monday to enforce the order if the travellers don't leave voluntarily.

Members of the group have indicated they're planning to return to their base in London on Sunday.
The police say some of them are "apologetic" about their actions on Tuesday evening, when there were several incidents of anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
The group has been told to collect and bag any rubbish on the site and to stop using the hedgerows as a toilet.

History students from a school in Northampton have had their grades estimated by their exam board because their papers were stolen.
Twenty pupils at Caroline Chisholm School have been told their scripts went missing after an examiner's bag was taken from the train he was travelling on.
Their grades have been estimated using coursework and grades recorded in other exams.
One of the students, Lauren Jellis, said: "The exam board haven't properly apologised - it's really been a justification of what they've done and why it's fair, but it isn't fair."

A court hearing to decide whether a group of travellers should be evicted from a site in Daventry is due to take place this morning.
They were given notice to leave the site by 09:30 yesterday, but the encampment of around 30 vehicles is still on the Eastern Way playing fields.

The travellers arrived last weekend after being told to leave a site in Crick, a few miles down the road.
Several incidents of anti-social behaviour in the town centre were reported on Tuesday night, including food being thrown around supermarkets and fights in the streets. Residents said the trouble "kicked off" in the Saracen's Head pub in the High Street and spread to other pubs and a chip shop.
The town centre is reported to have been quiet on Wednesday and Thursday.

There's disappointment this morning for balloon fans in Northampton.
Organisers of the annual Balloon Festival at Billing Aquadrome say there'll be no flying today because of the adverse weather conditions.
They've assured visitors other activities, including the funfair, falconry displays and kite flying will be going ahead.
Some balloons have been inflated for press photographs.
