  4. Man admits raping two-year-old girl

    A man has admitted raping a two-year-old girl and dozens of other sexual offences.

    Daniel Kilbee, 34, of Bradstocks Way, Sutton Courtenay, was convicted of 31 sex crimes against five victims between 1997 and 2015. 

    During two trials in July and August he was found guilty of sexual assault and indecency with a child. 

    He pleaded guilty to further crimes including rape and making indecent images of children.   

  5. Oxford flood project work begins

    More than 50 boreholes are being dug along the proposed course of the Oxford flood alleviation channel over the next five weeks

    Ground investigations are starting today after the preferred route was announced earlier this year.

    Flooding caused widespread disruption in February 2014 with homes and major city routes cut off for days - some train services also had to be stopped.

    The Environment Agency said the planned channel would run from north of Botley Road to Munday's Bridge, Kennington.

  6. Appeal for sightings of man, 6ft 8in tall

    Police are appealing for sightings of a man measuring at least 6ft 8in tall, who has gone missing in Banbury.

    John Bolton, also known as Shane Bolton, was reported missing from his home on Thursday.

    He is white, 46-years-old, about 6ft 8 or 9ins and of stocky build. He has access to a grey Citroen C5 car with the registration GN52 FJA.

  7. Traffic plan to be reviewed after Countryfile Live 'chaos'

    Traffic management will be reviewed ahead of next year's Countryfile Live - if it happens.

    Drivers complained of "traffic chaos" and hour-long delays at the BBC event on Thursday and Friday.  

    The chief executive of Blenheim Palace, John Hoy, says he doesn't want the weekend to be remembered for the wrong reasons.

  8. Missing man could have travelled to Oxfordshire

    Police are searching for a man who went missing from Winchcombe in Gloucestershire on 20 July.

    Nigel Wise

    Nigel Wise, 64, left home to get his car serviced and has since missed two other appointments.

    His blue Vauxhall Zafira, registration VO16 LFL, has been found in Chippenham in Wiltshire today and police believe he may have travelled to Oxfordshire.

    To provide information, call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident 100 of 22 July.

  9. Hunt on for thieves posing as police officers

    Two men who posed as police officers to rob a Witney woman in her 80s are being hunted by police.

    Between 21:20 and 21:45 on Thursday, two men forced their way into a home in Hailey Road. 

    When they were confronted by the woman, they said they were police officers and held up what appeared to be ID cards. 

    They told her they were there as a result of a burglary and needed to check her money. 

  10. Classic car enthusiasts gear up for Cowley exhibition

    The third Cowley Classsic Car Exhibition begins today, showcasing the Cowley car community, past and present.

    Organiser Tanya Field came to our studios with William, her 1991 Rover 800 - one of the last cars to be built on the old North Works.

    The exhibition begins today and runs until Saturday at Templars Square Shopping Centre.

  11. Steam train blamed for field fire

    Embers from a passing steam train are being blamed for a field fire near the heritage railway line in Chinnor.

    Six fire engines were needed to deal with the fire that affected an area of 4,000 sqm just off the Lower Icknield Way.

  12. Transfer moves possible as injuries hit Oxford United

    Oxford United may use the transfer market to bring in cover after injuries hit the squad in the first weekend of the League 1 season.

    A crowd of more than 8,500 saw the U's draw 1-1 at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

    Following the match, head coach Michael Appleton revealed that Christian Ribeiro had picked up a minor ankle fracture on Friday, Aaron Martin was unavailable due to bad blistering and fellow defender Shay Dunkley came off with a hamstring injury.

  13. Stuck boy, 10, rescued from seaside mud

    A 10-year-old boy from Faringdon has been rescued after becoming stuck in deep mud while trying to reach the sea at low tide.

    The boy was spotted in difficulty by a beach warden at Brean Sands, Somerset, on Saturday afternoon.

    He was kept calm by the warden until the rescue hovercraft arrived and safely returned him to his mother.

    Minutes later the same crew was called to rescue a male youth who had been spotted in the mud at nearby Uphill.

  14. Waits for child mental health care are 'real problem'

    Children who have been referred for mental health assessments in Oxfordshire have faced waits of more than six months.

    Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group said 75% of the time they should be seen within eight weeks.

    But a report for its board said: "Waiting times remain some way below target, with 38% of referrals assessed within eight weeks."

    Oxford Health NHS trust said the waits did not meet its "high standards".
