  2. Your tales of sporting misfortune

    Text us on 81111, #bbcsportsday

Antony Grace: Can't decide... Cross country race as a 14 yr old where trying to overtake for 4th place a telegraph pole decided to step in front of me; or last season's game where 2 minutes in, a back pass bobbled over my foot towards the goal, I beat the closing striker to the ball but when attempting the clearance another bobble resulted in the ball crashing back off the post, into my face then into the net. Lost 4-3. Gutted.

  3. Francesco Guidolin news conference

Swansea v Hull (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Swansea City

What about the players who came back to training late after Euro 2016 and the Olympics in Brazil?

“I have to manage my group well. If I can choose, I prefer to play with players who have been with us since the start of July. But, for example, we need a number 10 – we need Gylfi [Sigurdsson].

"I can choose between Neil Taylor and Stephen Kingsley. I have spoken with Neil and he will be involved in the game at Peterborough [in the EFL Cup on Tuesday]. But Gylfi and Ki Sung-yueng will be involved against Hull.”

  4. 'Fear of losing drives me'

    Eniola Aluko

England and Chelsea Ladies forward Eniola Aluko has been speaking to BBC Sport about the Olympics, the start of the Women's Super League and why Manchester United will win the Premier League this season.

You can read her thoughts here.

  5. Francesco Guidolin news conference

Swansea v Hull (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Swansea City

Will record signing Borja Baston make his debut?

Guidolin: “He is not available. He has a little problem with the thigh muscle in his right leg. I would like to have him ready in this period, but if it’s not possible, it’s not possible. It’s a shame, but this is our job.”

  6. Sean Dyche news conference

Burnley v Liverpool (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Burnley

And a little more team news from Burnley boss Dyche:

"Ashley Barnes is the one who won’t be available. He’s going along nicely after a hamstring injury but he won’t be fit for the weekend.

“Jon Flanagan can’t play because of his loan agreement and we’re getting him up to speed. He didn’t go on tour with Liverpool and he played three 45 minutes so he needs more pitch time."

  7. Francesco Guidolin news conference

Swansea v Hull (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Swansea City

Here's Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin with more background on the sale of Andre Ayew to West Ham:

“It’s the same as it was with Ashley Williams. Andre sometimes said to me he was happy to stay here with us, but if he could have a new experience to improve his status, this would be important for him."

Will Swansea be making any more signings?

“I am optimistic. I have spoken frequently with the chairman. We have not rushed. We have a shortlist of players and we have to decide. We are working on this.”

  8. Sean Dyche news conference

Burnley v Liverpool (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Burnley

Will club record signing Steven Defour be making his debut for the Clarets on Saturday?

“Possibly. He’s got quality but the adaptation to the Premier League is what we’re looking for because it is different," manager Sean Dyche says.

“I’ve spoken about that in some depth with him but his game understanding, having played international football and Champions League football, is pretty clear.

"He knows it’ll be a challenge for us. He’s not coming here thinking we’ll be rolling around the top three all season and he wants to be a part of that.”

  9. Francesco Guidolin news conference

Swansea v Hull (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Swansea City

It's been a turbulent summer at Hull - fan protests, Steve Bruce resigning as manager - but Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin is not taking Saturday's game lightly.

"It is a massive game for us. Hull are a good team. They are an important opponent and the match will be difficult for us," he says.

"They haven’t got a lot of players but they have an important group. In these difficult moments, a strong group can become even stronger. This is our difficulty for Saturday and so we have to be ready."

  10. Pereyra to Watford - done deal?

After Shane Duffy scored two own goals and got sent off for Blackburn we're asking you to show your solidarity...

Nick Matthews: Right, firstly I'd like to mention that I'm a midfielder. That being said, I played in goal for two games at Shefford United as our keeper was out of action. The first game we lost 0-8 at home. Not sure why they stuck with me but in the second game we were 9-1 down and the opposition were awarded a penalty. Their goalie buried it past me to make it 10-1. 18 goals conceded in two games. I didn't play for the team again.

  12. Coman 'back for Bayern in September '

    Kingsley Coman

Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti says the ankle ligament injury suffered by 20-year-old winger Kingsley Coman in training is not as serious as first suspected.

France international Coman - who is expected to make his loan move from Juventus permanent - was stretchered out of a training session on Wednesday after colliding with Javi Martinez.

"It's not a big injury and we hope he will be ready after the international break," Ancelotti said.

Bayern get their domestic season under way on Friday when they play fourth-tier Carl Zeiss Jena in the first round of the German Cup.

  13. 'Gunners turn to Gimenez'

    Latest transfer gossip

Spanish sports daily Marca says Arsenal are considering a move for Atletico Madrid's 21-year-old defender Jose Gimenez as they expand their search for a central defender.

But the report also says Atletico are unlikely to sanction a sale - and the release fee in the Uruguayan's contract stands at £55.9m.

  14. 'Newcastle interested in Haller'

    Latest transfer gossip

Newcastle have approached Dutch club Utrecht over their 22-year-old forward Sebastian Haller, according to the Evening Chronicle.

The Frenchman scored 24 goals for Dutch club Utrecht last season - and has also been linked with Sporting Lisbon.

  15. Klopp stands by Moreno

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists he will not be swayed by recent criticism of Reds left-back Alberto Moreno.

The 24-year-old Spain player conceded a penalty in last week's win at Arsenal and BBC pundit Garth Crooks claimed Liverpool would be relegated if he remained in the team.

"Alberto could have done better but I don't really understand what we are talking about," Klopp said.

"I cannot be interested in criticism from other people."

Shane Duffy shouldn't have to suffer alone - we're asking for your own stories of sporting misfortune. Come on now. Own up (also very happy for you to hang your mates out to dry here...)

Iain, London: Under-16 game for the school team. I (the regular penalty taker) suffer from cramp in both calves when we win a penalty with five mins to go. Unable to walk, our centre back steps up and dutifully balloons the penalty yards over the bar. Wouldn't be that embarrassing, if the keeper weren't two years younger than the rest of us...and wearing ski gloves. Still remind Ricard Butt of that 15 years on.

  17. Swindon sign Delfouneso

Swindon Town have signed former Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso on a contract until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old was a free agent after leaving Championship side Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.

On Wednesday, Swindon head coach Luke Williams revealed the former England Under-21 forward was considering a deal at the League One club.

Delfouneso has also played for Burnley, Blackpool, Coventry City and Leicester City.

  18. Claudio Ranieri news conference

Leicester v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Leicester City

Ranieri was asked if Jeffrey Schlupp will be sold to West Brom.

His reply: "Schlupp stays with us. He's very happy." Guess that's a no...

The Italian also also said Danny Drinkwater is "very, very close" to signing a new contract.

And on team news, despite having no injuries, he says "nobody is 100% - they are 70%, not 100%."

  19. "Is this a library?"

Manchester United v Southampton (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport

Visiting fans at Old Trafford like to poke fun at a perceived lack of atmosphere by chanting "Is this a library?" or "It's just like being in church."

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has attempted to rectify that by calling on the club's supporters to make some noise ahead of his first home game in charge, against Southampton tomorrow (20:00 BST).

"If a couple of thousand away can be more noisy than 70,000 at home then we are in trouble," he said in today's media briefing.

The problem is, in games such as tomorrow's, they usually are.

  20. Claudio Ranieri news conference

Leicester v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Leicester City

Ranieri says Riyad Mahrez's head was never turned by transfer speculation. The Algerian winger signed a new four-year contract with the Foxes on Wednesday.

“I’m very pleased but I was so sure [that Mahrez would sign]. It’s important we stay together.

"We spoke together last season, also in pre-season. He told me he want to stay.

"Maybe now Riyad could be a little more free. But he was never anxious or nervous"
