  1. Post update

I'm out of here for now. I'm off to get a posh frock on for the closing ceremony.

Get yourself a brew, maybe even a little snack, and join us for the end-of-Games shindig. Laters.

  2. Post update

Right, we're close to winding this up for a little while.

We'll be back for the closing ceremony, which gives you time to watch Match of the Day.

I'm hearing word that there is currently a monster storm raging in Rio. Can they still have the closing ceremony in bad weather? Or would they quietly hand the flag over to Tokyo in the bar?

In terms of future Olympics, is it too late for me to campaign for darts to be included in Tokyo? Am I better off aiming for 2024?

Amar Ahmed: The best moment is the unexpected medals. Too many to mention. Canoeing, trampolining, hammer throwing.

It's Van Gool: My moment of games @BryonyPage1 silver, disbelief and joy was brilliant.

Russ Mitchell: Many great performances. Best: @JasonKenny107 winning 3rd Gold after threat of disqual. Greatness/coolness under pressure.

  9. Post update

The Mongolian strip protest has just made it on to the Ten O'Clock News.

It might be the greatest thing I've ever seen, including Muse live at Leeds Festival

Naomi Edwards: The question now is who's going to win Sports Personality!???

  12. Post update

Thoughts on the GB outfits for the closing ceremony? Are those red trainers the ones that flash in the dark. I'd quite like a pair of those.

  14. How to end the Olympics

Michael Oberlander: How to end Rio 2016? Simple, the apocalympics, lock the doors to the stadium and fight to the death.....

As a reminder, the closing ceremony begins at 00:00 and will run into the wee small hours. You're used to staying up late, to going without sleep, so give us one more effort. You've got four years to recover.

Mathew Fiford: How to end the Olympics? Put Maddie Hinch at the entrance to the stadium, the first person to get past her wins!

  19. Post update

I've just been looking ahead to 2020. Tokyo is nine hours in front of the UK. That would mean the big athletics finals will be around lunch time and track cycling will be at breakfast.
