Barnsley fire: West Way to be closed over the weekend

Barnsley council's warning it may be sometime before West Way and Wellington House can be re-opened following a fire last week.
The former Chicago Rock nightclub on Wellington Street was severely damaged in the blaze and the historic building may have to be demolished.
David Shepherd from Barnsley council says it's causing considerable disruption.
If you're going to the Barnsley versus Rotherham United match at the weekend, you're advised to avoid West Way and leave in plenty of time as there is likely to be major disruption with the road closures in place.

Watch: Hillsborough Pokestop 'ill-thought out'

The man who blasted a Pokestop at the Hillsborough memorial as “distasteful” and “inappropriate" says he doesn't think it's malicious.
A Pokestop is part of the Pokemon GO augmented reality game in which players use their phones to chase animated characters in real-life places.
Ian Richardson has instead put it down to a computer error and says he thinks the landmarks were assigned automatically by the developers software.
Virgin challenges Jeremy Corbyn train footage

Virgin Trains has questioned footage showing Jeremy Corbyn sitting on the floor of a "ram-packed" service.
In a film shown on The Guardian, the Labour leader said he was experiencing a problem "many passengers face every day" on the London to Newcastle train.
The company says the service, which runs through Doncaster, had plenty of unreserved seats available.

Police search for metal owner

In the early hours of Saturday morning, police officers discovered some metal after stopping a Ford Transit van on Holbrook Avenue, Holbrook, Sheffield.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, was interviewed under caution following the discovery of the metal objects which are believed to have been stolen.
Police now want to trace the owner and would like to hear from anyone who was information as to who it could belong to.
The metal cylinders have Micron Filter Unit 2 written on them in yellow.

Start of the Scarborough annual cricket festival

Yorkshire are taking on Nottinghamshire in a four day game at the town's North Marine Road ground.
It's the 130th year of the festival being played in Scarborough, an event which attracts thousands of visitors.
The festival also brings a big economic boost for the seaside resort.

It's organised by Hive South Yorkshire and Vicky Morris from the organisation says they're aiming to reach people across the region:

The online game Pokemon GO has been branded "distasteful" and "inappropriate" after it emerged a memorial in Sheffield to the Hillsborough disaster is being used as a "Pokestop".
Ian Richardson, who is originally from Liverpool but now lives in Sheffield, noticed the Pokestop had been linked to the site.
Pokemon GO is an augmented reality game where users use their smart phone to catch animated characters in real-life places.
Ninety-six fans died in the Hillsborough disaster, the UK's worst sporting disaster, which took place in April 1989.

South Yorkshire police dogs take top awards

Two South Yorkshire police dogs and their handlers have scooped first and second place at the British Police and Services Canine Association dog trials in Birmingham.
Rocky and handler PC Steve Gill, and Evo and handler PC Adrian Noble, from South Yorkshire Police and Humberside’s Joint Specialist Operation Unit, proved they were a cut above the rest by claiming the top two spots for the ‘Service Dog of the Year’ award.
