Morrissey has been speaking about his treatment for Barrett’s cancer, which affects the oesophagus, saying it has "slowed me down considerably."

The musician first revealed he'd been fighting the disease in 2014, describing how doctors had "scraped cancerous tissues four times already" but stressing he "felt good" nonetheless.

Speaking to Israel's Walla, he gave an update on the treatment, saying: "The combination of doctors and hospitals and medicines are actually very aging in their way, and they can often exhaust you more than whatever medical problem you have."

The star plays in Manchester this weekend, followed by a show in Tel Aviv.

He added that his next album was already "written" and that he was looking to "find a distribution deal".

Mollie King from The Saturdays has sent the tabloid press into a frenzy with her debut single, Back To You, which is due out this Friday.

It's a "Taylor Swift-style diss track," claims The Sun. "Mollie is definitely NOT holding back," adds Celebs Now; while The Daily Mail calls it "a thinly-veiled swipe" at her ex-boyfriend, M&S underwear model David Gandy.

The couple broke up acrimoniously this January after five years together; allegedly because Mollie wanted to settle down and start a family.

Hot on the heels of Florence and the Machine's beautiful score for Final Fantasy XV which we shared with you on Friday, Grimes has revealed she's curating the soundtrack for new basketball game NBA2K17. 

The singer said she was "stoked to be involved" in the project, which she's working on with Noah '40' Shebib of OVO Sound and Imagine Dragons. 

The game's due out next month, with the soundtrack set to feature the likes of Drake, Grimes, Jay Z, Future, The 1975 and Santigold. 

Grimes recently unveiled a new track for the Suicide Squad soundtrack, Medieval Warfare.

Fabric, one of London's biggest nightclubs, has closed indefinitely during an investigation into two drug related deaths in the past nine weeks.

The club in Farringdon, central London, initially announced it was closing for the weekend but news has since emerged that its licence has now been suspended.

Things are going well for Francis & the Lights at the moment - first they persuaded Kanye and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon to dance in their Friends video, and now Chance The Rapper's announced he's bringing them on tour. 

The US and European dates kick off in Philadelphia in September and include shows at the O2 Academies in both Manchester and Brixton in November. 

Over the weekend, Chance and Vernon joined Francis & the Lights on stage at the Eax Claire festival in Wisconsin, to help them perform the dance from their video... 

Meanwhile to illustrate his philosophy of giving his music away for free (and to promote his cover story on Billboard magazine) Chance paid a visit to Chicago's Reckless Records and brought a crate-load of vinyl to give away to passers-by.

His hand-picked selections - which were captured on camera - included Wu Tang Clan's classic 36 Chambers, FKA Twigs and the soundtrack to Cats. He kept Joanna Newsom's Divers for himself.

Grime star Stormzy is to be honoured with the Innovator Award at the AIM Awards, which celebrate artists releasing music on independent record labels. 

Organisers called the 23-year-old "a true trail blazer with a truly independent spirit". 

The MOBO-winner - who was the first unsigned rapper to feature on the BBC's Sound Of list in 2015 - is yet to release his debut album, but has scored a top ten hit with Shut Up and notched up tens of millions streams.

The Proms marked the 120th anniversary of Ira Gershwin's birth over the weekend, with an entire evening dedicated to the music he composed with his brother, George.

The duo started their career on Tin Pan Alley, earning a weekly wage of $15. By 1928, they had three shows running concurrently on Broadway, featuring classic songs like Funny Face, 'S Wonderful and Someone To Watch Over Me. 

Saturday's Prom featured some of those numbers, alongside the brothers' film music, some of which had not been played live since the original recording sessions, because the scores had been destroyed.

A Polish man has been arrested after he was accused of breaking into David Guetta’s Ibiza mansion.  

Police detained the man at a nightclub, after workers reported seeing him in the property's kitchen earlier in the day.

Local reports said it was the second time the unnamed man had entered the house without permission.

On the previous occasion, he tricked a maid into letting him in by posing as a friend of the dance musician.

Chase & Status brought the sounds of London to Rio de Janiero last night, performing with rising stars Elf Kid (pictured above), Nadia Rose and DJ Logan Sama at the Olympics British House. 

The event was arranged by Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, as a showcase for London's cultural sector; and follows a similar event at the 2012 Olympics, starring Dizzee Rascal.

"Grime music is thriving at the moment and for Sadiq Khan to make it the focus of London’s celebration of culture this year at the Olympics – it’s incredible," said MC Elf Kid. 

Rihanna's not the only R&B singer making huge inroads in Hollywood at the moment - Janelle Monáe has not one, but two films coming out soon: Moonlight and Hidden Figures. 

She's just shared the trailer for Hidden Figures, which sees her starring alongside Octavia Spencer and Empire's Taraji P Henson as three NASA mathematicians who were instrumental in launching John Glenn into orbit in 1962. 

Monae told fans she was "emotional" after the trailer debuted during the Olympics coverage in the US...

It's due out in January next year and the soundtrack should be a corker - Pharrell Williams is on board working on original music alongside Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

He tweeted: "So proud to be part of this incredible, untold true story."

In case you missed it over the weekend, Bon Iver shared two tracks from their forthcoming new album, after playing it live at frontman Justin Vernon's Eau Claire festival in Wisconsin.

Bon Iver have also announced a series of live dates in Berlin and California.   

Chart-conquering R&B behemoth Drake had a big surprise for fans attending his Summer Sixteen tour in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday.

Rather than introduce Rihanna or Future or one of his other many collaborators, he brought out basketball star LeBron James.

"If you don't make some noise for The King right now you're out of your mind," he told the crowd (they made some noise, FYI).

James, who has just signed a three-year, $100m (£77m) deal to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers, bopped along to Pop Style with a massive grin on his face. 

"That's what you call a hometown hero right there," said Drake after the sportsman left the stage.

And it seems that Drake's rap-sport crossover isn't going to stop there. 

He's invited 16-year-old Canadian swimmer Penny Oleksiak to one of his future shows, after watching her pick four medals at the Rio Olympic Games. 

Oleksiak who, like Drake, hails from Toronto, was overwhelmed by the attention. 

"This is literally amazing, Drake," she tweeted. "I'm crying."

A Minnesota judge has given the administrator of Prince's estate the green light to sell six of the late artist’s properties.  

Prince fans with particularly deep pockets will soon be able to bid for a $13.7m (£10.6m) lakeside property, complete with its own windmill. 

The list also includes an unspecified property in the Turks and Caicos islands and - less enticingly - a "small commercial building" with an estimated value of $22m (£17m).

As previously reported, Prince’s home and recording studio Paisley Park is not among the properties to be liquidated. 

James Bay headlined Boardmasters festival in Cornwall over the weekend, which he told Newsbeat felt like "a big step up" from his usual place on the bill. 

Things didn't go quite as well for Craig David though - who was left "gutted" after a cancelled flight to Newquay saw him pulling out of his appearance. 

"We tried private jets, helicopters, any way to try and get there but nothing was working," he told disappointed fans on Instagram.

He said it was the first time he'd missed a gig in 15 years.

Tributes have been paid to The Lapelles' frontman Gary Watson, who died after falling into the River Clyde in Glasgow the day before his 22nd birthday.

A post on the band's Facebook page said the singer died "as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic accident" on Saturday night.

"Today was his 22nd birthday. We are lost for words and struggling to process such a tragedy."

The band, who recently performed at T in the Park and the Belladrum festival, had been championed by the NME, Radio 1 and Radio X for their swaggering single Grab Life By.

Franz Ferdinand, Travis and Jesus and Mary Chain were among the bands to express their shock at the new.

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda has joined forces with New York senator Chuck Schumer to tackle the problem of ticket touts.

The pair are launching a bill that, if passed, would impose fines on scalpers who use automated computer scripts (known as bots) to snatch scores of tickets as soon as they go on sale.

"You shouldn't have to fight robots just to see something you love," said Miranda - unwittingly coming up with the plot for the ninth Star Wars movie.

According to Schumer's office, scalpers made more than $15m (£11.6m) from selling tickets to Hamilton while Miranda was in the title role.

Ever wondered why you can't hear classic albums by De La Soul on streaming services? 

They're not holding out like The Beatles or Led Zeppelin. In fact, they really want the records to be heard.

"It's really heart-wrenching," Posdnuos told the BBC over the weekend. "It's an unfortunate place we've been put in as a group."

Apparently, the band got clearance to use samples from The Clash, Johnny Cash and dozens of others in the 1980s - but only for music released on vinyl and cassette. 

That means new deals would have to be cut before the albums could appear online - and no-one is willing to sort it out.

Film critics may have been baffled by Suicide Squad, but the all-star soundtrack has debuted at the top of the US album chart,.thanks to artists like Skrillex, Panic! at the Disco, Grimes and Twenty One Pilots.

It sold the equivalent of 182,000 copies - 128,000 of which were traditional album sales, making it the best debut for a soundtrack since Fifty Shades of Grey 18 months ago. 

Drake’s Views is still in second place, while last week's number one, DJ Khaled’s Major Key, dropped to seventh place. 

Suicide Squad also debuted at number one in Australia's ARIA Albums Chart.

Meanwhile in the UK, Blossoms scored a UK number one with their debut album on Friday. 

And in the singles chart Justin Bieber managed to claim the top two spots for the SEVENTH time in a year.

Cold Water, his collaboration with Major Lazer, notched up a third week at number one while Let Me Love You, with DJ Snake, was a new entry at two.

Ska heroes Madness have announced a brand new album - the 11th in their 40-year career. It's called Can't Touch Us Now, and it's due out on 28 October.

The band have shared a slightly bonkers album announcement on YouTube, filmed at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, where they fielded questions from some of their "maddest fans" - war veterans the Chelsea Pensioners.
