Government counter extremism programme undersubscribed
Nearly half of those at risk of becoming so-called Islamic State supporters, who have been offered an intervention by a government programme, have refused help.
Figures from a Home Office database show that in the last financial year 245 people flagged as "Isil" in the database were offered support from the Channel programme, but 47% declined.
Typically the support might include meeting with a de-radicalisation expert or mentor, but it is entirely voluntary.
