  4. Work to start on Scunthorpe A&E improvements

    Martin Slack

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

Improvements will start later this month at Scunthorpe Hospital in an attempt to make life easier for ambulance crews.

At present the hospital has just one entrance - and health chiefs say they want to create a dedicated way in for those with major injuries and conditions.

The existing door will then be used only for "walking wounded" patients. There are also plans for a an improved waiting area for children.

  5. Warning after elderly victims targeted

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

You're being warned to be vigilant following a number of distraction burglaries in North Kesteven.

The victims were in their 80s and 90s and were conned by bogus callers posing as utility workers.

  6. New theatre owners 'overwhelmed' by support

    Natasha Turney

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The new owners of Lincoln's Theatre Royal say they've already seen encouraging ticket sales just a day after reopening the box office.

Performances were cancelled and the theatre was closed last month after the previous operators gave up running the venue.

Spokesman Sara Bullimore says there's been a rebrand - with the theatre now to be known as New Theatre Royal - and a programme of dates has been drawn up.

Meanwhile the theatre says it is working to help people who have tickets for cancelled performances.

  9. Wind farm scheme 'pushed through against public wishes'

    Martin Slack

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

Lincolnshire County Council has criticised a government decision to grant consent for a big windfarm off the county coast.

Earlier today the Energy Secretary Greg Clark announced that the offshore and onshore cabling for the Triton Knoll project could go ahead.

But it's been given a thumbs-down by Councillor Colin Davie, the authority's executive member for planning.

He said: "We are extremely disappointed with this decision, which has been pushed through against local wishes."

    Gemma Dawson

    BBC Look North

Day and night cover at a Lincoln fire station is to stay after councillors rubber-stamped a revised cost-cutting plan this morning.

The county council had put forward proposals to stop overnight staffing at the city's South Park station to save money.

But after a series of protests the authority has decided not to go ahead with the proposal.

Instead it will cut the number of full-time firefighters at stations across the county to achieve the same savings.

    Carla George

    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

I've been in court today as two 15-year-olds pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Liz Edwards and her daughter Katie in Spalding in April.

They admitted manslaughter but denied the murders of Liz Edwards and her daughter Katie.

The girl, wearing a black hoodie and dark trousers admitted manslaughter at Nottingham Crown Court

The boy wearing a dark blue jumper and jeans showed no emotion throughout the hearing.

Neither of the defendants can be named because of their age. A trial has been set for 5 October.

The barracks opened in the 1970s on the site of the former RAF Spitalgate. The Army says it's a logistical training centre specialising in providing gym instructors. It also has two detachments of cadet forces.

The MOD says the units are not being disbanded - and further details will be released as to where they will move to in the autumn.

Grantham's Prince William of Gloucester Barracks is to close - it's been announced by the MoD.
