No word on a title or a lead track yet, but he is clearly very excited...

    *probably not.

In July, Kudi - real name Scott Mescudi  - joined the cast of hip-hop drama Empire, but has apparently since dropped out due to that old favourite... "creative differences".

Ah well, TV's loss is clearly music's gain.

  8. Two Door Cinema Club: Gameshow is a fresh start

    Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club say making their third album, Gameshow, felt like "a fresh start".

"We took a break at the start of 2014," singer Alex Trimble tells Newsbeat.

"That was time to get out of what we've been in for the last six years and reassess.

"The way we looked at each other and the world has completely changed."

Gameshow is the follow up to second album Beacon which went to number two in the UK in 2012.

"We've always thought about it as a career rather than one big album," adds bass and keys player Kevin Baird.

"When you play a festival you want to be able to pick from three albums of stuff and not be forced to play covers or something."

You can watch their recent Reading and Leeds performance of new single Bad Decisions below...

Read more about the making of the album - due on 14 October - in Newsbeat's full interview

  12. Trailer for Oasis documentary Supersonic released

    Oasis

The trailer for the new Oasis documentary Supersonic has been unveiled, giving fans a look at some of the previously unseen footage of the band plus commentary from Liam and Noel Gallagher and their mum, Peggy.

The film's directed by Matt Whitecross, who made The Stone Roses inspired feature film Spike Island, and is produced by Asif Kapadia who directed the award-winning Amy.

Due in cinemas on 2 October, it documents the band's rise to fame in the 1990s up to their career pinnacle at Knebworth.

At a special preview screening of the film at Festival No 6 on Sunday, Whitecross said he could see the band - who split in 2009 - getting back together one day.

"Neither of them have discounted the idea of getting back together," he said of estranged brothers Liam and Noel.

"It will happen, I'm sure. The idea of never seeing them again for me is impossible."

You can watch the trailer on YouTube although please be warned before you do that in true Gallagher style there are a few big old swear words in there.

  13. Craig David releases video for Sigala collaboration

  14. Sia unveils new collaboration with Kendrick Lamar

It's thought to be the first song from her new album We Are Your Children and it's on Spotify and Apple Music.

There's also a new video which doesn't feature Lamar's verse or - true to form - the singer herself.

  16. Mel C debuts new track Anymore on Radio 2

    BBC Radio 2

    Mel C

Former Spice Girl Melanie C has debuted her first new material in five years on Chris Evans' Radio 2 breakfast show.

Anymore is taken from her new album Version of Me - recorded in Los Angeles, London and a garden shed.

"Calling it a shed is not really fair," she admitted to Chris. "It's a little recording room at the bottom of the garden of one of the guys from Turin Brakes, so it's a little bit more refined than having a few rakes in it and a lawnmower."

Mel said her new album is still recognisable but has moved on from her previous efforts.

"I really wanted to do something different. I've always wanted to do something quite electronic. It's still pop, I'm a pop artist and I always will be, but it's nice to experiment.

"I feel like music's changed and it's good to evolve and my tastes have evolved."

    Guns N'Roses

For the first time since their unlikely reunion at the Coachella festival, the singer and bassist from Guns N'Roses have given a TV interview to a Brazilian channel.

Axl Rose and Duff McKagan spoke to Globo TV ahead of the US leg of their Not In The Lifetime tour.

Rose revealed he first contacted guitarist Slash late last year following Coachella's interest in bringing the band together.

"I had called [Slash] and he was on tour or something, and then we set up when we were gonna see each other, and I think something happened to both of our plans and that didn't happen," Rose said

"And then eventually in October, we got together and we had a dinner at my house. And then Duff and I went and hung out right after that."

Rose also discussed his 'other job' fronting AC/DC as a replacement for ailing singer Brain Johnson.

"I'll do that as long as Angus [Young] wants to do it and as long as we can make it work. Guns is really supportive about it. I love that it's my job. I love that Angus is my boss."
