Mother Teresa; US campus sexual assaults

The canonisation of Mother Teresa as a saint; sexual assaults on US campuses; women in country music; the legacy and alternate reality of Ada Lovelace.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta will be Canonised as a Saint on Sunday. Who was she, why was she able to persuade the rich and powerful to support her, and why did thousands of women join her Missionaries of Charity? Author and journalist Madeleine Bunting, and Dr Gemma Simmonds, a Sister of the Congregation of Jesus, share their views.

Plus, where are all the women in country music? Jenni speaks to Beverly Keel, former Nashville Music Executive and co-founder of Change the Conversation, and to Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, who make up the UK country duo Ward Thomas.

Sexual assault on US campuses: American journalist Jill Filipovic discusses why it appears that young, white, privileged men seem to be treated leniently by the law when facing charges of sexual assault on campus.

And The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage. Ada Lovelace may be known for writing the world's first computer programme in the mid-1800s, and her collaborator Charles Babbage as the inventor of the computer, yet a computer was never built in their lifetimes. Now the animator, Sydney Padua, has written a graphic novel which considers an alternate reality where they do build one. Sydney Padua joins us, along with mathematician Dr Hannah Fry, to give their views on the legacy of Ada Lovelace.

Presenter: Jenni Murray
Producer: Emma Wallace.
