  2. I had heart condition - Claridge

Former Leicester striker Steve Claridge reveals he dealt with a heart condition during his football career.

Claridge was discussing Sunderland defender Patrick van Aanholt, who was withdrawn from Sunderland's game at Tottenham on Sunday just before kick-off, following medical advice from heart specialists.

The much-travelled forward, who played for more than 20 clubs in a career spanning over 1,000 games, explained how he struggled with an irregular heartbeat from a young age.

Claridge said: "I had to take amiodarone for my heart, I had an irregular heartbeat so would not have been able to play football without it. When I was 14 it came on and I had to sit in the middle of the pitch. I could not move it, was that bad."

"It's a great honour for me to be appointed for this assignment," said the 1992 Fifa World Player of the Year who won the European Championship and two European Cups during his career.

  12. 'A crazy scenario'

    Athletics

    BBC Radio 5 live

Former world champion Steve Cram says the Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) system, which allows banned substances to be taken for athletes' verified medical needs, is robust and athletes are being unfairly viewed as cheats.

British Olympic gold medallists Mo Farah, Helen Glover and Justin Rose had their medical files made public by hacker group the Fancy Bears on Monday, with a further six British Olympians named earlier today.

Cram said: "We are just normal people and normal people suffer hayfever and asthma that require long - and short-term medication - does that mean you cannot do sport?

"I think we are getting into a crazy scenario where we are assuming everyone is cheating. They aren't. We are frightening people away from top-level sport."

  15. Defoe set to return after calf strain

Sunderland v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST, Saturday)

    Jermain Defoe

Sunderland's Jermain Defoe should be fit after missing the midweek EFL Cup win over QPR with a calf strain.

Goalkeeper Vito Mannone, midfielder Seb Larsson and forward Fabio Borini are all long-term absentees for the Black Cats.

Crystal Palace will be without defender and top scorer Scott Dann, who has a hamstring strain.

  16. Pulis set for 1,000th game in management

Stoke City v West Brom (15:00 BST, Saturday)

    Tony Pulis

Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to be fit for Stoke after returning to training following a six-match absence with a calf injury.

Forward Jonathan Walters is doubtful because of the ankle problem that ruled him out of the midweek defeat by Hull.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis, who takes charge of his 1,000th game as a manager, has no new injury worries ahead of this weekend's meeting with his former club.

Chris Brunt remains the only Baggies player unavailable as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

  17. Six Brits in latest 'Fancy Bears' hacking

The medical records of six British athletes are among the latest to be made public by hackers.

Nile Wilson, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Steve Cummings, Richard Chambers, Saskia Clark and Sophie Ainsworth were named by hackers Fancy Bears on Friday.

Rio 2016 gold medal-winning cyclist Fabian Cancellara is also named.

The records mostly detail therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs), which allow banned substances to be taken for athletes' verified medical needs.

There is no suggestion athletes named are involved in any wrongdoing.
