Self proclaimed "bad man driver" jailed after head-on collision
BBC Radio Lincolnshire
A 23-year-old motorist who drove at twice the speed limit caused a head-on collision which left his 14-year-old passenger seriously injured, Lincoln Crown Court was told today.
William Lee, of Mew Gull Drive, Sutton-on-Sea, ignored complaints from his young passenger in the moments leading up to the collision telling him "I'm a bad man driver".
Lee drank from a can of lager while he drove and entered the village of Willoughby at between 55 and 60 mph in a 30 mph limit area before colliding head on with a Vauxhall Astra.
The 14-year-old suffered internal injuries in the crash and had to undergo an operation. Lee later tried to bribe him, offering £1,000 together with Littlewoods vouchers and a new pair of trainers in exchange for not talking to the police.
Today he was jailed for two years and four months and banned from driving for three years.
GPs to withdraw some unpaid services in Lincolnshire
Now some GPs are withdrawing services they're not commissioned or paid to deliver.
Doctors at around a hundred GP practices in Lincolnshire say that they will withdraw services including 24 hour blood-pressure monitoring, electrocardiograms and ear care because they're not paid for them and can't afford to carry on.
The action was organised through the local medical council and believed to be a first. The council represents the GPs in their dealings with health commissioners.

Rod Whiting

Richard Davies is a councillor for the area, he believes the A&E should be re-opened but concedes that this will alleviate some concerns.
Quote Message: Everything less than [re-opening] is a fob off, however I am pleased that at least they're no longer closing the doors at 6:30 and if you do turn up you can see a doctor. It's not a final solution, it's not the answer but it's a step in the right direction. from Richard Davies Grantham County Councillor
