  2. Hull FC match on TV

    Hull FC's home game with the Warrington Wolves on the 23rd September will now be televised, but the date remains the same.  

    There will be two changes to the 19-man squad. 

    Mark Minichiello and Frank Pritchard are out injured. Feka Paleaaesina (pictured) and Curtis Naughton will replace them.

  3. Cleethorpe's famous fish and chips gets a mention in Parliament

    The Business Secretary says he'd be happy to have "fish and chips in Cleethorpes" with the town's MP.

    Martin Vickers (pictured) made the invitation in the Commons earlier: 

    Quote Message: I welcome the government's continuing commitment to the Northern Powerhouse... will the secretary of state meet with me and council leaders to discuss how we can maximise the contribution northern Lincolnshire can make to the project and reap maximum benefit."

  5. Travel: Severe disruption on the M180 southbound

  6. Watch: Team pay tribute to Daniel Wilkinson

    Team mates have been paying tribute to former Hull City youth player Daniel Wilkinson who has died at the age of 26.

    It's thought he had a heart attack last night on the pitch while playing for non league side Shaw Lane.

    Hull City say they're saddened by his passing.

  7. It's gold for Grimsby at the Paralympics.

    Grimsby athlete Hollie Arnold has won a gold medal at the Rio Paralympics by breaking the world record in the javelin, twice!

    Her best throw was 43.01 - nearly a metre and a half over her previous record set 20 minutes earlier.

    Hollie has been competing in the sport since she was 11 when she joined the Cleethorpes Athletic Club.  

    Two years later she was selected to compete in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, making her the youngest member of Paralympics GB aged just 13.  

    The 22 year old, who's also the reigning world champion, is competing in her third games, but this is her first Olympic medal.

  9. McGhee eyes Hull City's Snodgrass for leading role

    Scotland attacker Robert Snodgrass

    Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee says Robert Snodgrass can provide the leadership lost in the international retirement of team captain Scott Brown.

    Snodgrass was key to Scotland beating Malta last month in their opening World Cup qualifying campaign tie, scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 win.

    McGhee believes the Hull City attacker has the personality and influence to become a leading figure in the squad.

    "He's a fantastic character, a genuinely nice guy," said McGhee.

  10. World record throw by Grimsby javelin paralympian

    Grimsby javelin paralympian Holly Arnold has thrown a record breaking 41m 68c this afternoon. 

    There's still a few hours of the competition left, but here's hoping Holly gets gold.

  12. Sport: North Ferriby away to Gateshead

    North Ferriby United are hoping for a change of fortune tonight when they play at Gateshead. 

    They've lost their last four National League games without scoring a goal. 

    But manager Steve Housham says his players are learning from playing against many full-time professionals who've got Football League experience.

    The Chinese-American chairman of French club Nice is believed to be heading up a new consortium interested in Hull City. 

    Chien Lee was given a tour of the KCOM Stadium last night and attended the club's Under-23s game at North Ferriby United.

  15. Almost half a million for village hall makeover

    Beryl Catterall, (pictured) who chairs the Little Weighton village hall committee, has welcomed the news the hall is to receive almost £500,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. 

    The money will be used to modernise the premises. 

    Work will start next March.

  16. Scunthorpe United's Paddy Madden back to match fitness

    Scunthorpe United striker Paddy Madden (pictured) says he doesn't want to look back after his goal scoring return to the side. 

    Last season's top scorer is expected to keep his place at Shrewsbury on Saturday after making an impact on his first start of the season in the weekend 4-0 win over Southend. 

    He's had to sit out the first month of the season through injury.

  17. Funding could lead to 200 new jobs in Scunthorpe

    I've been finding out  about how almost £1,000,000 in government funding could bring hundreds of new jobs to Scunthorpe.

    It will be spent on developing the Normanby Enterprise Park (pictured) near Normanby Hall.

    The idea is to improve the site's infrastructure by building more roads and roundabouts and to get it ready for new businesses to come in and use.

  18. Hull City Council cracking down on recycling

    If you live in Hull and you get a knock on the door today - it could be some one telling you you've not put your rubbish in the right bin!.

    Advisors begin work in the city today to tell people how to dispose of their waste properly

    The City Council say contaminated recycling bins cost them £500,000 a year. 

    The are spending £100,000 on the workers.
