Yorkshire to fight for title without Root or Bairstow

Yorkshire will have to fight for their third County Championship title in as many years without the services of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow.
The England and Wales cricket board have informed the White Rose of their decision to remove them from county duty for England selection.
The ECB will make a decision over the availability of David Willey, Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett after Wednesday's T20 between England and Pakistan.

Sheffield Hallam University student Ellie Simpson is campaigning for a new sport to be featured in the Paralympic Games.
Ellie has cerebral palsy and competes for England in RaceRunning, a sport for disabled people with impaired balance.
In 2015 she won two gold medals in the World Cerebral Palsy Games and was named a Jack Wills Young Brit of the Year.

Police hunt arcade attacker

Police want to speak to man after an assault in an arcade near Skegness, after a 15-year-old boy from South Yorkshire was punched in the face.
The suspect is described as being a black male, of large build, who was with two other black males and a white male, all about 17-20 years of age.
The attack happened in an arcade on Trunch Lane, Chapel St Leonards on Thursday 25 August.
A national survey for the British Chambers of Commerce has also found a further one in ten firms has been told by staff from the EU that they now plan to leave Britain.
Dan Fell, from the Doncaster Chamber, says work is being done to increase the skills of British workers so they can also compete for vacancies:

Work is set to begin on the next phase of the £320m Chesterfield Waterside scheme today.
Contractors will be preparing the land for construction of a hotel, shops, apartments, a multi-storey car park and offices along the A61.
Some of the money has come from the Sheffield City Region.

South Yorkshire firefighters have come to the rescue of a toddler after he got his HEAD stuck in a toilet seat.
Four-year-old Luca managed to wriggle his head into the seat, but then couldn't get back out again.
Luca and mum Nicola went to Tankersley where firefighters were able to snip the seat off.
Hopefully that's lesson learnt!
Pavilion fire 'thought to be deliberate'

The fire service believe a blaze at a Sheffieild pavilion this lunchtime was started deliberately.
The building, in Beauchief Gardens, has been badly damaged.
Fire crews were called at just after 12:30 and have now left the scene.

Handsworth Parramore in qualifying FA Cup draw

There's only one of our local non-league teams left in the FA Cup and they're making history in the process.
Handsworth Parramore are in the hat for the next round draw of the FA Cup's qualifying round.
Being in the sixth tier of English football, they beat Squires Gate 5-2 on Saturday.
The draw is at 12:00 today.
