Francesco Guidolin started with a 3-5-2 formation against Chelsea but switched to 4-3-3  after Chelsea took the lead on 18 minutes.

Swansea eventually drew 2-2 and Guidolin said: "For me it is about working in a different way and shape. In my opinion we have the right characteristics to play different ways.

"What is important is mentality, not the players' position.

"We played well for the first 18 minutes against Chelsea, but not after they scored.

"After 30 minutes we needed a reaction and I decided to make a tactical change.

"A lot of managers have made a change before half-time. It's not a good moment, and it wasn't an easy decision for me.

"I have managed a lot of games, because my career is very long, and I have used a lot of formations.

"We could play with the same formation (on Sunday)."

  8. Remember him?

    Football

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has joined La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.

The 29-year-old joined Liverpool from Ajax for £11.5m in 2007 and scored 22 goals but failed to earn a regular first-team spot.

He was sold to Hoffenheim in January 2011, before moves to Ajax, Turkish side Kasımpasa and  UAE club Al Ain.

Babel scored five goals in 43 caps for the Netherlands.

  9. Basketball's teenage kicks

    Rio Paralympics

    Elizabeth Hudson

BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

Reaching the semi-finals of the wheelchair basketball competition is no mean achievement when you are only a teenager!

Charlotte Moore is one of four teenagers on the GB team - she celebrated her 18th birthday on Tuesday, the day of the quarter-final win over China - and her family are very proud of her.

"She's worked so hard to get here," dad Kester told me. "She was at London 2012 as part of the Paralympic inspiration programme but to be here and in the semi-finals is fantastic."

  10. GB's youngest supporters?

    Rio Paralympics

    Elizabeth Hudson

BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

I think I've found some of the youngest GB supporters in Rio!

Twins Ivy and Bertie, who are just eight months old, are here with mum Rachel Strange supporting their auntie Clare Griffiths, who is part of the women's wheelchair basketball squad in her fifth Games.

Also, here is five-month-old Amber Oakes - another of Griffiths' nieces.

  11. GB women trail at half-time

    Rio Paralympics

Half-time in the women's wheelchair basketball semi-final and GB trail the USA 41-36.

The USA have pulled away in the last couple of minutes of the half with Rebecca Murray and Desiree Miller doing a lot of the damage.

Helen Freeman has 12 points for GB with Amy Conroy on 11.

  12. Post update

    A Question of Sport Teaser

Earlier we asked you to name the four teams beginning with C that are in the top 20 of the current Fifa rankings?

  13. Close at the wheelchair basketball

    Rio Paralympics

    Elizabeth Hudson

BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

It's tight here after the opening quarter of the women's wheelchair basketball semi-final with Great Britain and the USA tied at 18-18.

Helen Freeman leads the GB scoring with 12 points while Desiree Miller has managed the same for the USA.

The two sides met in a couple of friendlies at the end of June with the USA winning both times - so the GB women have revenge on their minds!

  14. Weir reveals retirement date

    Rio Paralympics

David Weir has finished 6th in the T54 800m in what he says will be his "last individual track race".

"I don't know what's gone wrong - well I do know what's gone wrong but I will leave that for another time," he said.

He went onto say the 2017 London Marathon will also be his last ever race.

    More to follow.

  16. Swansea news conference

Southampton v Swansea (Sun, 14:15 BST)

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin is hopeful record-signing Borja will be available for Sunday's trip to St Mary's.

The Spanish striker is still waiting to make his debut after suffering with a thigh problem following his £15.5million move from Atletico Madrid in August.

"He is training with us and I hope to have him available for Sunday," Guidolin said.

"I want to see him train with intensity and confidence. I hope to see him in this condition as soon as possible because we need him.

"He is a good player but it is important in this period not to rush him if he's not ready."
