The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society

More than 70 people a day are diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. This disease causes the immune system to attack the body, damaging the joints and sometimes the organs. It has no cure. A diagnosis is life changing, but the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) is here to provide emotional and practical support to help people cope with their disease and change lives.

Peer Support

Peer Support

With the help of our dedicated volunteers, NRAS is able to deliver invaluable peer support services. Our goal is to reduce concerns and fears and give people the confidence and support to better manage their disease and live happier lives.

Campaigning

Campaigning

NRAS seeks to be the voice for people with rheumatoid arthritis. One of the most effective ways we make people’s voices heard is by engaging with key decision makers within government and the health service.

Providing Support and Information

Providing Support and Information

Our national helpline receives almost 3,000 enquiries every year from those with rheumatoid arthritis and from their families. We provide callers with up to date information, give emotional support, to help people understand more about the disease and the treatments available.
