  2. West Yorkshire's weather: Plenty of sunny spells

    We'll continue to see plenty of sunny spells this evening, and this leads us into a dry night. Remaining quite cloudy and breezy. Temperature lows of 11C (52F).

  3. Watch: Leeds is University of the year

    More now on the news that Leeds University has been named the best in the country.  

    The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide gives Leeds high marks for teaching quality and overall student experience. 

    It's taken the guide's top spot after being runner-up for two years in a row.

  4. Travel update: A6177 Queens Road in Bradford is blocked in both directions

    The A6177 Queen's Road in Bradford is blocked in both directions between the Valley Road junction and the A6037 Canal Road junction, because of an accident. 

    There is a diversion in place and police are diverting traffic onto Midland Road and North Avenue.

    Schools in Bradford have partnered with BBC Radio Leeds for a special project about the Battle of the Somme

    Students at Farnham and Cullingworth primary schools will learn all about India and West Yorkshire's connections with the First World War.

    A range of speakers will talk to pupils, who will also take part in music and dance classes.

  10. Priest's 'harasser' will not face trial

    A man from Denbighshire who was accused of harassing a Catholic priest who he claimed abused him will not face trial.

    Mark Murray from St Asaph will instead have to pay 1,700 euros - nearly £1,500 - in legal fees.

    He went to Italy last year to face Father Romano Nardo, who taught him in Yorkshire in the late 1960s and told him the impact he had on his life.

  13. More than 20,000 women in district hit by pension changes

    An action group chained themselves to railings in a protest against changes to the state pension which will leave women thousands of pounds worse off.

    Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) staged a Suffragettes-style demonstration in the spirit of protests to get women the vote in the early 20th century.

  15. Shipley scout leader jailed for decades of abuse

    A wealthy scout leader who groomed, raped and abused 12 boys over a period spanning six decades is jailed for at least seven years.

    Philip Longbottom, 66, assaulted boys as young as nine at his home and on camping expeditions before bribing or threatening them to keep quiet.

    Police said that beneath his "wealth and influence" lay a "sinister side".

  16. Bartley credits Clotet for Leeds upturn

    Kyle Bartley believes assistant boss Pep Clotet deserves credit for Leeds United's improved defending.

    But central defender Bartley has formed an impressive partnership with Pontus Jansson in recent weeks.

  17. 'Queer history' landmarks celebrated by Historic England

    Oscar Wilde's former home, the estate of "the first modern lesbian" and a memorial to a trans spy have been given special status by Historic England.

    Six historic LGBT venues are being recognised for reflecting England's "queer history".

    The former home of Anne Lister in Halifax has been relisted to record her importance as a lesbian pioneer.

    At Shibden Hall, she wrote a coded diary, using the Greek alphabet and mathematical symbols, which would describe her lesbian affairs.

  18. New images of man wanted by Leeds police over sex attacks

    Police in Leeds are looking into whether one man was behind four sex attacks.

    The attacks all happened in Harehills and Burmantofts on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 September.

    The man is described as a dark-skinned black male, possibly East African, with curly hair that was a couple of inches long.
