    Louise Wheeler

    BBC Local Live

The President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz, is to investigate the conduct of the two UKIP MEPs that were involved in an altercation on Thursday.

Steven Wolfe (pictured left in hospital) collapsed in Strasbourg and was taken to hospital following a 'heated exchange' with the Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire MEP, Mike Hookem (pictured right).

Today, Mr Hookem spoke to the BBC and said he did not punch Mr Wolfe.

He dismissed the incident as "handbags at dawn" and a "scuffle."

An investigation by the European Parliament could see the MEPs suspended from voting and their expenses cut.

At the minute residents on the Humberston Fitties have to leave the chalet park for two months a year.

But North East Lincolnshire Council wants the closed season to be extended to four months because of fears about flooding risks.

After months of going backwards and forwards between various council committees Cabinet will discuss it a week on Monday.

Hull City Council says there won't be an independent inquiry into the baby ashes scandal.

Tina (pictured) and Mike Trowhill have campaigned for the inquiry for over a year after discovering their son's ashes were scattered without their knowledge.

They teamed up with other families from across the country and took their campaign for an inquiry to Westminster.

But today, Hull City Council said an inquiry won't take place because the Ministry of Justice has already done "significant work."

Mr Woolfe will be kept in hospital for a further 48 hours.

  15. Your views: A-boards outside shops

    BBC Look North

    East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Shop owners who place advertising boards on the pavement in Hull city centre could soon be prosecuted as part of a council crackdown.

There are concerns they make it more difficult - and dangerous - for people with disabilities to get around.

But business owners say they need to attract customers because city centre renovations have hit their profits.

Quote Message: The pavements in Cleethorpes are very narrow and they insist on putting A boards out. I’m disabled and have to use a mobility scooter. It’s so bad that most of the time I have to go up the road because there’s no room on the pavement. from Mr Drinkall
