Tomorrow, Huddersfield Town - down to third in the table for now - host Sheffield Wednesday at 12:00 BST.

Steve Bruce knows just how big a challenge he has if he is to earn another promotion from this league.

Aston Villa defender James Chester tells Sky Sports: "I think the way the second half went it was a good point.

"It seems to be the story of our season so far that we have one good half and one bad half.

"I've played under Steve Bruce and won promotion. There's plenty of games to go and I'm confident he can get us going in the right direction.

Wolves skipper Danny Batth tells Sky Sports: "We finished on top and we felt there were some things that could have gone our way."

It finishes level at Villa Park but how Wolves have not won this game I do not know.

The visitors hammered Steve Bruce's men in the second half but wasted a number of good openings and failed to make their dominance count.

Villa took the lead in the first half through Jonathan Kodjia's penalty but Helder Costa levelled for Wolves with a penalty of his own.

We're into the final minute of stoppage time.

In the circumstances this would be a decent point for the hosts.

The corner comes to nothing and Villa have still not had a shot this half.

Villa have a corner as we enter four minutes of injury-time.

"You'd think, given the way Wolves have played in the second half, there'd be only one winner of this - but they have now wasted an awful lot of chances!

"And this is a Steve Bruce side they're playing against. Any team under his command keeps right on to the end of the road..."

Preston striker Simon Makienok headed a 92nd-minute goal to deny Brighton three points in the Championship.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton: "The first goal we conceded was poor but I was more disappointed with the second goal because of the timing.

"We must not give them the opportunity. The big lad [Makienok] was a threat at six foot seven and our game management should have been better.

"At 2-1 we should be killing the game off and showing more killer instinct as there is always a chance that the opposition will score."

Nouha Dicko is the latest Wolves player to get behind the Villa defence.

The ball is running away from him though and he thumps his half volley way off target.

How are Wolves not winning this game?!

Huge relief for Aston Villa's defenders as Helder Costa is subbed off for Ivan Cavaleiro.

Costa had been superb this half.

It's perhaps unsurprising that Villa are looking so disjointed given the changes that have taken place at the club.

However, you'd have to say Steve Bruce is being shown just why this side have won just once in 11 Championship games this season.
