Yvonne Francis-Parmar and Malachi Glaiester Thomas who chose not to give evidence in court today, but speaking outside the court Thomas said: "The cause is still out there...we are still going to keep going...We are looking to move forward and make progression from this."

Defendant says protest action was 'reasonable'

Giving evidence, Lisa Robinson said their protest aimed to highlight "everyday racism" and border control issues.
She added: "I considered what the consequences to my action would have been.
"I have got a son who is 18 years old and I want to hand over a better society to him. That is why I believe that my actions were reasonable.
"I had the chance to do my bit in my lifetime for a cause I believe in. That's why I did it."

During today's hearing Eshe Naomi Graham, a vegan chef, said she believed strongly in the Black Lives Matter movement, saying: "I believe we should have equality - we have to understand that not everybody has that equality."
In her mind, Graham said, the protest aimed to raise awareness of a "worldwide crisis" when other attempts to highlight it were being ignored.

Defendants Eshe Naomi Graham, Yvonne Francis-Parmar, Lisa Robinson and Malachi Glaiester Thomas all linked arms while lying on the tram tracks outside the Theatre Royal in Upper Parliament Street.
Their arms were linked with tubes which appeared to be sealed with concrete and police required specialist cutting machinery to open the casts.

It caused gridlock for some time while buses and cars in the city centre were diverted.
