    It has been named by Countryfile Magazine as one of the best eight places in the UK to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of autumn.

  5. Protesters guilty over tram demo

    If you're just catching up with the outcome of today's trial for the Black Lives Matter protesters, you can read more of what's been happening here.

    All four people were found guilty at Nottingham Magistrates' Court this afternoon of wilful obstruction of a highway during the protest back in August.

  7. Activists vow to 'keep going'

    The four were greeted with cheers from supporters as they left court.

    Yvonne Francis-Parmar and Malachi Glaiester Thomas who chose not to give evidence in court today, but speaking outside the court Thomas said: "The cause is still out there...we are still going to keep going...We are looking to move forward and make progression from this."

  9. Defendant says protest action was 'reasonable'

    Giving evidence, Lisa Robinson said their protest aimed to highlight "everyday racism" and border control issues.

    She added: "I considered what the consequences to my action would have been.

    "I have got a son who is 18 years old and I want to hand over a better society to him. That is why I believe that my actions were reasonable. 

    "I had the chance to do my bit in my lifetime for a cause I believe in. That's why I did it."

  10. Activist 'wanted equality'

    During today's hearing Eshe Naomi Graham, a vegan chef, said she believed strongly in the Black Lives Matter movement, saying: "I believe we should have equality - we have to understand that not everybody has that equality." 

    In her mind, Graham said, the protest aimed to raise awareness of a "worldwide crisis" when other attempts to highlight it were being ignored.

  13. Police used specialist machinery to break links

    Defendants Eshe Naomi Graham, Yvonne Francis-Parmar, Lisa Robinson and Malachi Glaiester Thomas all linked arms while lying on the tram tracks outside the Theatre Royal in Upper Parliament Street.

    Their arms were linked with tubes which appeared to be sealed with concrete and police required specialist cutting machinery to open the casts.

  14. Protesters sentenced

    All four defendants have been sentenced to three years conditional discharge.

    They have also been ordered to pay £175 in costs.

  15. Protest caused gridlock in parts of city centre

    The protest happened on 5 August during the morning rush hour and saw the trams halted for several hours. 

    It caused gridlock for some time while buses and cars in the city centre were diverted.

    On the same day there were similar protests in Birmingham and on the M4 at Heathrow. It came a day after the fifth anniversary of the death of Mark Duggan, who was shot by police.

    District judge Richard Marshall has found all four defendants guilty of wilful obstruction of a highway.

  17. Melanie Wilson: Last seen two weeks ago

    Melanie Wilson, 22, was last seen at her home in Sutton-in-Ashfield on the evening of 19 October.

    She has not been seen since.

    This week her dad, David Wilson, put out a heartfelt plea for her to get in touch and come back home.
