  4. Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge waves goodbye to Lincolnshire

    After two days in the county the Children In Need Rickshaw Challenge has left Lincolnshire. 

    Matt Baker and a team of young riders are heading to King's Lynn in time for the One Show tonight. 

    They started in Skegness just after 06.00 this morning.

  5. Traffic and travel across Lincolnshire: A158 closed

    We're just getting details of an incident on the A158 in Sudbrooke, just north east of Lincoln. 

    There's been a collision and it's causing congestion for traffic in both directions. The road's closed.

  6. Civil war coin haul worth £34 (that's in old money) but it's still a lot

    Here's another picture of that amazing hoard of silver coins that have been dug up in a field near Sleaford.

    Dr Adam Daubney, who's from Lincolnshire County Council, has described the find as "monumental".

    He said: "The total value of the hoard – in terms of when it was buried – comes to just over £34."

  7. Operations back on after cyber attack

    East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

    Health bosses at Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole Hospitals say they've now rescheduled nearly all the appointments cancelled due to a cyber attack on computer systems. 

    More than 2,500 operations were cancelled during a three-day period in late October.

    The attack also caused problems at hospitals in Lincoln, Boston and Grantham - and a police investigation was later launched by Humberside Police

  8. Community concern over surgery shutdown

    Councillors have voiced their "shock and dismay" over the closure of a local surgery in a Lincolnshire village. 

    Some 2,000 patients in Lincolnshire are having to find new medical care for the next three months after Wainfleet Surgery near Skegness was closed after safety concerns were raised by the Care Quality Commission.

  9. Streets sealed off in Boston after police alert

    Several streets in Boston town centre were sealed off this afternoon after police were called by worried locals.

    A police spokesman said: "We attended an address in Witham Place, Boston following a report of concern for the safety of a woman at 12.30 GMT.

    "The road has been temporarily closed and the matter is now resolved."

  10. Paedophile police officer has sentence upheld

    A former police officer and scout master who was jailed for a decade of sexual abuse of young boys has  had his 20-year term upheld by top judges.

    John Edward Bates, 69, was jailed in May after he was found guilty of 18 offences, involving at least 80 individual sex attacks on four boys.

    They took place while Bates was a scout leader in Spalding and Wittering in the 1970s and 1980s.

    Bates denied the crimes at Lincoln Crown Court but was sentenced to two decades behind bars. Today judges at the Court of Appeal in London rejected his application to have the sentence reduced.

  11. Bishop prepares for traditional winter gritter blessing

    The Bishop of Lincoln is due to bless some of the county's road gritters later. 

    It's a tradition at this time of year for ceremonies to be held at highways depots across Lincolnshire. 

    The Right Reverend Christopher Lowson says it's an opportunity to thank the teams for keeping our roads safe over winter. 

    I'll be at the depot in Sturton by Stow later for the ceremony there.

  12. Woman, 57, jailed for Boston burglaries

    A woman's been jailed for a string of house burglaries in the Boston area. 

    Jacqueline Pinkney admitted seven charges at Lincoln Crown Court earlier today.

    The court heard the 57-year-old had a long criminal record including more than 20 previous convictions. 

    Pinkney, from Irby Street in Boston, has been jailed for four and a half years. 

  13. Rickshaw Challenge continues on route

    Here's the moment the BBC Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge left Boston.

    The team, including The One Show's Matt Baker and a team of youngsters, are now heading for Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge.

    It's there that they'll cross the border into Norfolk and into Kings Lynn.

  14. Watch: Steel company urges the government to buy British

    A steel company based in Scunthorpe is calling on the UK government to buy British for major projects.

    The steel fabricators SC4UK are also taking part in a trade mission to Sweden as they attempt to expand.

  15. 'Monumental' hoard of silver coins unearthed in field

    More than 1,000 silver coins which were buried during the English Civil War have been found near Sleaford. 

    The hoard has been uncovered in a ploughed field at Ewerby.

    Lincolnshire County Council - which is dealing with the find under the Treasure Act - says the hoard was discovered by a metal detectorist.

  18. 'Time to think about NHS charging' says MP

    A senior Lincolnshire MP says it's time for an honest debate about charging people to use the NHS.

    During a debate on the health service in the Commons, Sir Edward Leigh highlighted massive pressure on Accident and Emergency departments.

    He warned that either taxes have to rise to fund improvements or people will have to pay to use the service.
