  3. Listen: Hull City Council agrees to make new savings

    Plans to save £16m from Hull's Adult Social Care budget have been given the go-ahead by the city council's cabinet.

    This could mean that the number of people living in care homes in Hull could be cut by a third.

  4. Hull's William Wilberforce statue to get revamp

    The scroll of the statue that stands outside Hull College will be gilded in gold leaf. 

    The work should be completed by tomorrow.

  5. Listen: Concerns over child welfare in East Riding

    BBC Radio Humberside

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council's appealing for people to come forward if they have concerns about a child's welfare. 

    It comes as the NSPCC, says it fears a lot of cases of child abuse or neglect across the region are not coming to the attention of the authorities.

    Louise Exton from the NSPCC says there are several reasons why people don't contact the authorities.

  6. Man robbed in Grimsby as he withdraws money

    A man has been robbed by a gang in Grimsby who took cash from him in the early hours of this morning.

    The incident happened near Asda on Corporation Road. 

    Humberside Police say the 42-year-old victim was approached by a man who demanded money and when he refused two further men arrived and carried out the attack.

    Police are appealing for information.

  8. Roadworks in Bridlington begin

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council is starting improvement works on Queensgate in Bridlington today.

    It's the £500,000 second phase of the carriageway resurfacing scheme from St Aidans Road up to and including the junction with Fortyfoot, and follows the first phase of work on this street, completed back in June.

    The works will take approximately five months to complete and East Riding Council has details on upcoming road closures here.

  10. Ward closed at Grimsby hospital due to diarrhoea and vomiting

    One ward has been closed at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital due to an outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting.

    The Amethyst ward has been fully closed to new admissions and transfers. 

    Patients on the ward will not be discharged to nursing or residential homes while they remain an infection risk.

    Humberside Police are concerned they're not "scratching the surface" when it comes to stopping motorists using mobile phones while driving.

  13. Appeal to find missing Hull man

    Concern is growing for a Hull man who has not been seen since lunchtime on Friday 21 October. 

    Paul Hoodlass, 50, is from the Hessle Road area of Hull and is white, about 6ft 2in tall with a slim build, short grey hair and a beard. 

    Humberside Police say they are concerned for Paul’s mental wellbeing and are urging him to get in touch to confirm he is safe and well.

    Anyone with information is asked to call 101.

  15. BreakingGrimsby Town confirm departure of manager

    Grimsby Town has confirmed Paul Hurst has left the club and is joining Shrewsbury Town.

    The club also say that assistant manager Chris Doig is making the move as well and that Dave Moore has agreed to act as a caretaker manager until a permanent replacement is found.
